This very charming and personal B&B off the beaten track is a great find. Simple, tastefully furnished rooms, peaceful gardens, sunroof with mountain views, delicious breakfast and Inger and Sepp make it home for you. I will be back.

We stayed at this guesthouse for 3 nights in early May 2015. It truly is "off the beaten path." The property is rustic, charming, and very well cared for. The hosts are delightful and attentive. They have a library stocked full of pamphlets for day hikes that depart right from the guesthouse, complete with maps and directions. Ingar is happy...

Ferreirola was the fourth "white village" we have stayed at on our 6 week car trip around Andalusia. We have found our way to some remote spots and Ferreirola was another. My husband was beginning to have his doubts when we got to the Square, however with a little poking around we found the Sierra y Mar sign and followed...

Sierra y Mar is a wonderful guest-house run by hospitable owners, Inge (Danish) and Giuseppe (Italian) in the remote Alpujarran village of Ferreirola. Made up of original, small white-washed houses set amongst a pretty hillside garden, Sierra y Mar is a great escape from the bustle of the Spanish coast and for us a lovely way to round off a...

We only stayed for two nights but had a fantastic stay. This place has the atmosphere of a youth hostel but with delicious breakfast, nice rooms and a lovely garden. At night you only hear the river deep in the valley.

My husband and I stayed here the second week of September. It's located at the very end of the road in a small town, Ferreirola. There is only one tea house there but the town just before it has a few restaurants and a market. We bought items and made our own dinner 2 of 3 nights and sat on...

I spent five lovely days at Sierra y Mar. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and very private, the views fabulous. Hosts Inger and Sepp are gracious without hovering, and will recommend first-rate hikes. If you're looking for tranquility, this is it.

We stayed at Sierra Y Mar for one night on 24th July 2010. Ferreirola is tucked away in a beautiful valley in Las Alpujarras. The first thing we realised was that this little Andalucian village was designed without the car in mind....as it should be. Leave the car in the little village square next to the church and the natural...

This village is very relaxing and quiet. There's a small bar/tea room. In the next village (20 min walking) you'll find some restaurants, of which the vegetarian restaurant is quite surprising. For shopping we went to yet another village. This hotel is next to a long distance walking trail, and the area has many hiking possibilities. Our room was a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The small hotel "Sierra y Mar" is situated at the top of the village with a wonderful view over the flat roofs and the surrounding mountains. Entering the house through the blue door is like walking into a small village as the house is actually several houses joined together by gardens and terraces. The spaciousness and the quietness of the place is increased as most rooms have their own terrace with superb views. All the rooms have modern bathrooms and central heating. There is also a large living-room with a fireplace, a library and a kitchen for the use of the clients. WiFi.The small whitewashed village Ferreirola is beautifully and appropriately placed at 1,000 m on the southern slope of the National Park Sierra Nevada. The mild climate of the valley, the many mountain springs, and the rich vegetation make up the scenery of this former Moorish village.Fortunately for walkers an ancient network of mule tracks is preserved. Marked routes:The E4/ GR7, GR 142, Ruta Medieval. ... more   less
