Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
I had saved this hideaway nestled in the jungle just outside of Ubud as a bucket list destination on one of the leading travel booking websites over 5 years ago (thus years before the COVID pandemic hit), and by chance stumbled upon it again.
Understanding the challenges faced by top-tier places in maintaining high standards in a tropical climate, especially post-pandemic, when many once-grand hotels in Bali struggled to stay on top of their game, and knowing that even top-tier places can fail maintaining the high standards in a tropical climate — which requires constant uphold and ideally upgrades to the structures, I thoroughly compared reviews in search of a secluded spot for relaxation and minimal remote work.
I also looked for a great central base from where to explore not only Ubud, but most of the Gianyar regency with a top-notch scooter I wanted to get delivered to the resort (check out Bikago if this is sth. you are interested in). So this year in November/December I finally made it to Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud and treated myself to 13 nights at this wonderful resort.
My Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud experience did not only meet, but exceeded my expectations for hospitality, comfort and desire for escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Despite my usual tendency not to revisit places, I am genuinely eager to return with my family in the near future, as this place is truly magical.
I staid in a Balinese-style Arkamara Suite Jungle with a panoramic view on the beautiful main pool (there is also a quieter/less frequented second pool close to the villas, which I had to myself most of the time!) and adjacent lush jungle. The king-size bed was super comfortable, the spacious bathroom had a huge private shower space and bathtub, and the balcony with comfortable lounge furniture is ideal to unwind. The housekeeping team was flexible and ensured the suite's cleanliness was impeccable.
Given the occasional need to work from the resort, a strong Wi-Fi signal was crucial for me. I experienced no issues staying online, and the signal remained consistently strong throughout the premises. (For island exploration, I used a pre-purchased eSIM; I highly recommend Holafly!)
The resort staff were incredibly courteous, attentive and anticipated my needs on multiple occasions discreetly. The Kaukau restaurant, open from 07 AM to 10 PM, served delicious breakfast combinations and offered excellent lunch and dinner options covering Indonesian to International cuisine. Kudos to the head chef and the Kaukau team for their culinary creations and impeccable service.
The Kamalini spa is just a few steps away and offers a wide range of packages to get pampered, to destress and indulge in relaxation. The team at the reception is always ready to come up with great suggestions on what to do when in Ubud and the rest of the island (also promptly replying to WhatsApp messages). I made it twice to the (complimentary) early-morning yoga sessions on the rooftop — by January 2024 a sky bar named "Juggan Sky" will have opened there, allowing you to kick back with a drink and fantastic views.
For those that are not too comfortable with driving a scooter to visit the many hidden gems of the island, the resort can also arrange a driver that not only takes you around but also shares with you everything you want to know about Bali (I was told by other guests). If you want to discover mainly Ubud the resort offers a free shuttle that drops you off and picks you up again multiple times per day (if you want to be more independent: taxis are reasonably priced). As to further activities/amenities of the resort, I know they offer a bunch (just check their website) but I did not always make it on time as I also wanted to (purposely) "lose myself" on the island.
If you have read this review up to here, trust me: a visit to Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud — whether alone, as a couple or with your family — will be an unforgettable experience!

I was greeted at the airport with flowers which was such a lovely personal touch. I stayed here alone for 5 nights and the service was honestly exceptional. Every single staff member was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Location wise very close to lots of bars, restaurants, sites to visit. Hotel organised a driver instantly at any time. Each driver was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Staff were quick to provide tips on where to visit and what to do locally. Villa was very clean and well maintained. Great breakfast daily overlooking a beautiful rice field. Main pool was kept clean. Very close to Ubud Yoga Centre, few minutes walk. Most key places are a 10/15 minute drive away but cost wise very reasonable to get to daily - with traffic was taking around 20-25 mins. Would recommend the floating breakfast, picture perfect. I had spa treatments done too and the service was great. Very peaceful stay in paradise, couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much to all the staff for such a special stay.

We stayed at their Arkamara Jungle suite, a spacious suite with a terrace, chairs, and sofa with a jungle view and direct access to their swimming pool.
The suite has Balinese furnishings, large 42" tv, a minibar, a tea and coffee maker, and a wardrobe.
The indoor bathroom is very spacious with a bathtub overlooking the jungle and it has a separate shower area
We had breakfast at Kau Kau restaurant, we choose 5 types of dishes, cereals, eggs, bread, proteins, carbs, and beverage choices the foods are very delicious.
Probably one of the most spacious and beautifully designed infinity swimming pools during daytime and nighttime are equally gorgeous
The hospitality shown by the Staff is remarkable,
This resort is perfect not only for a couple but also for family

Amazing hotel, one of the best I’ve ever been. The hotel is in a quiet location yet very close to Ubud center. All the facilities are top quality and the hotel never feels crowded (even if during our stay the hotel was at capacity none of the facilities ever felt busy). The suites, where we stayed, have a separate pool which felt very private. The pools also have outdoor showers with shampoo and body soap so if you want to hang around a bit longer after check out in the pool area you can shower there afterwards (which is what we did). The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable; with a mini bar and snacks and water provided daily. All rooms also have a private balcony with a nice view of the forest. The hotel has a very clean and good quality spa where you can get massages and other treatments; a rooftop terrace where there is a bar in the evening and a yoga area where you can take private or shared yoga classes. Some of these are scheduled by the hotel and complementary but they are also happy to schedule a different one for you at anytime of the day for a fee. We had a private yoga class in the morning and it was really good. The hotel has a restaurant that serves good local and international food and the breakfast menu is amazing! Loads of options to choose from including great veggie options. The fact that it’s not buffet makes the restaurant feel calmer and the atmosphere is better as there is no people walking around all the time and you still eat plenty with an amazing selection of high quality food (and less waste is created). The staff is extremely kind, never intruding and yet they always make sure you are having the best possible experience. At the front desk, they can help you organise tours and other activities and in general the staff is very kind and accommodating, they will always put extra effort to make your experience as good as it gets. We loved it here and I’m already thinking of coming back!

What a truly special place Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud is!
As soon as you arrive the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They are more than happy to give you information about the beautiful resort. Led by GM Parka, the staff including Indri, Kadek and Vini among others are professionally trained and assist you in having the most relaxing of holidays.
The resort itself is in a beautiful jungle setting, with an infinity pool overlooking the jungle.
We stayed in both the one bedroom pool villa and the Royal Pool Villa.
Wow on both fronts. The one bedroom villa has a lap pool, outdoor kitchenette, undercover day bed and outdoor access to the amazing outdoor bathroom.
Inside has a beach timber feel and you could get lost looking at all the timber work.
The beds in both villas are so comfortable as well.
The Royal Pool Villa is something else.
Inside is about twice the size of the One Bedroom with more of a traditional Balinese feel.
The outdoor bathroom is comparable to the One Bedroom Villa but both are stunning and massive.
Outdoors is another world, the pool is about 3 m x 6 m and the yard is very spacious. The garden is so lush and large and the other great thing is that even though you are a few minutes from Ubud Central, the peace and lack of noise, makes you think you are miles away in the forest.
The Upstairs Pavilion is another outstanding feature.
With views of Mt Agung and far around, you will not be disappointed spending some time in the upstairs bar.
Can’t wait to get back to the resort next year

We arrived very early morning, 1.30am from the very moment we entered the driveway we new this place was special.
Beautifully decorated, reception very welcoming despite the very early morning. They carried our luggage and explained everything to make sure our tired brains where settled in.
Our visit is for honeymoon and first year anniversary and they had put a welcome sign out of flowers on the bed which was lovely, in addition on our actual anniversary they remembered the day and gave us a special dish in the resturant at breakfast so lovely and thoughtful.
Breakfast here is amazing, dinner specials are great.
2 pools very nice and clean, offer towels. Rooftop bar very nice for sunsets and can see mountains/volcanoes.
Complimentary lessons, yoga, dance, etc avaliable we did a morning yoga which was great. We didnt realise these where avaliable until last minute.
Jungle suit very spacious, rm 127 very lovely views, great location, lovely balcony, bathrooms with bathtub and shower, twin sinks, toiletries, towels, free WiFi, kettle with tea coffee etc and minibar (not free). Room safe and plenty of storage. Also provide Slippers for room.
The bed is super comfy and probably the best bed ive slept in bar my own of course, pillows so soft jutlst perfect.
Air conditioning also available in room.
They have Spa which is also the best spa experience I have ever had, and I have regular spas in the UK.
We partook in a moonlight dinner, which had free entertainment the musician was so talented just fantastic, with views of sunset and moonrise very romantic.
You expect to pay a bit more on site for food, drinks etc but you will.not be disappointed everything fantastic and fresh. But if you are on a budget you may need to get free shuttle or Gograb to ubud Town for slightly cheaper food and drink.
All staff here are fantastic, we had a couple of issues during our stay but all where sorted with no issues and sorted quickly. Nothing major at all.
We where treated like we where the only guests in there.
They also put on special events with music, darcing etc. To keep guests entertained. You can just message them on WhatsApp with any queries and they happily sorted out some trips for us. Highly recommend Bandi if you are looking for tours, he's fantastic human so kind hearted and will go out of his way to make sure your treated well and get what you want from your holiday experience.
I could go on and on about this place please do not think about it just book, you will not be disappointed, just fabulous, we do not get treated this way in the UK, the balinese are beautiful people and all should be more like them, such welcoming and open hearted people.
Thank you!!! (Suksama!!!!)

Amazing resort, beautiful and very accommodating staff and the hostess yank (sorry don’t have the balinese keyboard for her name) was superb and waited on us hand and foot.
The breakfast and dinner food was to die for. We were there on a Tuesday night and every Tuesday that go a Balinese style bbq which was very very tasty. Can’t recommend this place high quality enough. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and everything was great, worth every penny xx
Free shuttle bus to Ubud center and Monkey Forest, once you are done you just send a WhatsApp message and they will come and collect you with the hour.
Best stay in Ubud

I booked the private pool villa for 1 week. I ended up enjoying the stay so much I extended for an additional week. The resort has rice fields on one side and the jungle on the other side which make a lovely sunset walk. It’s also possible to see the river when sat in the restaurant, really a great place to enjoy all aspects of ubud nature. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, my stay was truly a very relaxing, luxury experience. I used the spa during my visit which I highly recommend. The villa was a good size, comfy bed and having access to a kitchen was a big plus for me. Breakfast was included in the rate which could be taken in the restaurant or delivered to the room. This felt like such a treat, the standard of service was excellent. The team working at this resort were keen to make my experience a great one I felt very pampered. I will definitely make a return trip.

Hi Stefan, The distance from our Hotel to Ubud center is around 5 KM. By foot or by bike both are possible however it will consume more time definitely by foot rather than by bike (bicycle).
We do have cooperation with other company for renting bicycle or motor bike.
However, we also have our complimentary shuttle to go there 3 times a day, at 11 am, 2 pm and 6 pm.
Hope this will answer.
Thank you
I dont know.
We haven a Suite on the 3rd floor
Hope that i understand your question right. We've booked the Pool terrace Suite.
