Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is terrible and I pity the staff who has to carry your luggage because it's quite hard to do it on you own judging on the terrain. I do have the following suggestions since the place can only get better (I don't think it can get worse...unless I spoke too soon): 1. A way to bring luggages up and down the steps from the parking lot that doesn't rely on some poor soul's back 2. Improve the maintenance of facilities. Stayed in a new room but the toilet needs repair 3. Stick to the schedule. If a trip departs at 9AM then it should depart at that time. 4. Shower facilities right after a dive instead of just handing us a hose 5. Place to soak gear. They do have it but it's filled with dirty water. 6. Prices are expensive for a place that is really way below standards. 7. Please be professional with guests at all times. 8. The food needs so much improvement. 9. Open the gates at the entrance particularly when expecting guests. Why is it always closed? 10. Cleanliness will be appreciated. I hope this feedback helps.

The diving and dive logistics provided were excellent but the actual hotel is bein renovated so it's like staying in a construction yard. Prices are very high given the type of room that you get. Even the high end renovated rooms were over priced. Staff friendly and diving was ok.

The hotel claimed that TravelBook.com did not coordinate with them. They offered us a room smack in the middle of a construction dump. The room itself was like something out of a warzone. And they claimed it wasn't their fault we were given that rathole. Needless to say, that's the first and last time we're ever going to visit Scubabro!

Good: - Staff are very accommodating specially those at the dive shop. They will take care of everything for you. - Food is great. Cons: - The old rooms are really old and does not smell nice. I have not yet tried their new rooms - No shower area for people who are on day trip. Where would you expect day trippers to shower after a dive? Day trip rates are similar to other resorts in the area so you are not really saving anything.

It's only a few hours away from Manila so you can definitely go there for a weekend dive. When we went there, we were given old rooms near the pool area where you train. I'm not sure if the new rooms are ready for guests. Some areas were still under construction. Everyone's very nice and very helpful - from the wait staff to the dive crew. Special shout out to "The Chad". The food's good too. Well... except for that very salty Adobo. Everything else was good.

It is a professional diving resort. Guest could have unlimited diving during a day. We could walk into sea directly at the Diving dock, which is just outside of the lounge, or take diving ship at the same marina. Current here is appropriate for both new comer and sophisticated guys. Quite a few Strict diving coachs here, including a Chinese girl. SDI/PDI certification is provided here. In addition, the boss could speak Chinese fluently. Residence enviroment is relative poor. Seafood is very fresh.

It´s an affordable place for what you can find in Anilao. There are two kind of rooms, some of them are new and the old ones, where I stayed. Even with that, they were ok for the two of us (a/c and private toilet). The diving staff was quite friendly and the hotel it´s ok. Don´t expect a top-end place, but it´s ok if you are looking for a reasonable priced place to dive.

I have been to Scubabro on two separate trips and, well it takes getting used to. Firstly the rooms, there are newly renovated rooms and older rooms, I have been in both and the new rooms are worth the price difference. Some of the new rooms face the ocean with a balcony and some face the rock face at the back with no balcony but there is no difference in the price. Ask for the obvious ocean view. Restaurant is really non-existent and they put on a small buffet for the meals which is hit or miss and usually miss. The bar fridge rarely works so be sure to ask them to put beer on ice as it'll be warm at the end of the day. Forget a glass of wine unless you bring it yourself. All this being said, they will help if you plan it, bring your own steaks etc. and you can have quite a bar-b-q but check first. Diving. This is why we go and this is what they do well. Prices are for the day and include limitless tanks. Rental gear is adequate and no complaints from our group. Entering from the shore is easier here than any other resort in the area and it is a popular place for dive instructors to bring classes beach use of it. Mind your gear, not that they will not watch it but the resort is accessible from the beach and the gear sits in the open but we had no issues. So for a day or two of diving, great, do not think of coming for a leisurely day by the beach, that is not what this resort does. Now only if they took a little more pride in the place, cleaned the windows, picked up the broken cocktail glass for two nights before. Asked certain guests not to hang their rash guards in the dining area...seriously.

I like the ressort despite the imperfections. The price is great and reasonable compared to many other Anilao places. Their dive shop can provide technical divers, the shore dives are nice, and y ou get unlimited tanks! The old room are old... but I go to a dive resort to dive so I really don't care too much. They are renovating the ressort, the new room look nice (never stayed). The staff is friendly. Now, the downside of all of that is: the food is often very very average, they eventually run out of... Everything (even beer) and anything, and more important, their rental gear is... Bad. They are accomodating, so with a bit of patience, they will fix most of your worries.

Currently, ScubaBro is all that reviewers have said: It's not much too look at and you won't win a gold star with finding a problem with any of the outdated rooms. Either there is no hot water, no AC, the door's nearly falling off, or the bathroom window has rotted. So, that's the bad news, and it's clear. But due to people like Jeff Lawrence who has been pushing the resort for quite some times, the following improvements have or will soon occur: 1. The staff are so friendly, well-meaning, put up with a lot, and so helpful. You won't find staff as helpful as these in the yuppie resorts. 2. The owner has started to develop the resort with four new rooms that are modern with a nice aesthetic quality. I haven't stayed in one yet but on the surface they are ten steps up from the old rooms. 3. The dive staff are knowledgeable and even though the equipment is not new, it seems to be in good working order. 4. Many times you can negotiate good prices for equipment, and dive boats. 5. You can negotiate unlimited shore dives! 6. The food is as good as it gets here in Anilao. 7. You can negotiate to get good value for money. 8. There's a lovely deck overlooking the bay. So, that's it on balance.
