I've been to the Philippines a number of times over the years but due to work have never been able to get out of Metro Manila. On this occasion, so glad I did. What a wonderful place this is. A couple of hours outside of Manila and a hop of a boat ride and its like being in a different...

A homey kind of feel, I felt like My grandmother was about to call out for me to eat. The place is quaint and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and the beds have good mattresses. Our room had a great view of the sea and during this season the crashing of the waves can wake or lull you to...

We've just returned from a three night stay at this resort. It is run by a lovely family and all of their staff are like an extended arm of the family. The resort is about a 2.5 hour transfer away from the airport. The pick up was easy but the weather was bad. We'd been advised if we were later...

My friend and I stayed here last minute and we loved it. It was quiet and peaceful. There is no way in or out except by boat. There is also no beach. Arnel and his staff made our stay perfect. My friend did the Discover Diving course and really enjoyed it. The marine sanctuary is nearby and is a remarkable...

There are so many dive spots near the resort. You don't need to ride for longer than 10 minutes to reach the next dive site. Loved staying on the seaside room. It's great to let your bedroom catch all that sea air.

Anilao is famous for it's muck-diving area. Most of the good dive places are located in the west side of Mabini peninsula, not Bauan area where Portulano is. As a photographer I was worried about this and emailed them before I decided to book this resort. The resort replied: the resort is only 15-20 minutes boat from those famous diving...

We are a macro site and have access to macro dive sites. You cannot make a sweeping conclusion that we are not a macro site with just one visit at the wrong time with bad weather. Every serious macro photgrapher also knows that it is SEASONAL. The housereef offers a whole lot of subjects but not exactly the same as...

Me and my girlfriend were planning to go out of town to somehow celebrate her birthday. Then I was thinking of going to Tagaytay City but it was so common nowadays for the ones who's living in Manila. So, I did searched for a resort and saw Portulano Dive Resort. At first I was hesitant in booking the hotel for...
