We love Spanish Steps! This was our fourth yoga retreat at Hotel Fuentes de Lucia and it won’t be our last! The accommodations are comfortable and clean with spectacular views of the Quirós Valley. Judy, Juan Carlos and their staff create nutritious and delicious meals often using ingredients from their own garden. This place is a gem! The guides for our hikes are so knowledgeable and funny and go out of their way to insure our comfort and safety. To top it off, they have created a fully appointed yoga practice room that invites you to watch the sun rise over the valley during the morning classes. Thank you Judy and Juan Carlos! Thank you also to their expert hiking guides, Mario, Jen, and Lorraine. See you next year!

This beautifully restored inn, nestled in the mountains, will leave you breathless and in awe. The hotel owners' and amazing team's warm hospitality and friendliness made me feel right at home. The meals were delightfully cooked with locally grown organic ingredients in a fine dining environment.
The rooms were excellent and clean.
A superb retreat week of yoga and adventurous hikes well spent in a wonderful environment of peace and tranquility.

I loved everything about this place. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had a pretty view. The bathroom had a window that opened. Easy drive to many hiking places. Wonderful food. My husband and I can't wait to go back.

I almost did not post this rave review about this incredible Hotel/B&B located in a unique part of Spain but I've taken pity on my fellow Northern American friends who must travel to Spain in the summer due to work and school obligations. Read on if you are not interested in enduring the heat, crowds and increasingly disgrutled locals in the cities of Spain and other European cities but would like to explore this special country! This was my second 7 day stay (in 3 years) and once again an unforgettable holiday in a magical part of Spain in a very, very special place. Summer in many parts of Europe and North America is increasingly unbearable (and,as an American raised in the South, I KNOW hot and humid) but Asturias and especially the province of Quiros, where the hotel is located, is so temperate, cool and comfortable it is hard to believe I was visiting in July! The great outdoors, including national parks,UNESCO sites & bear/animal sanctuaries, is at your doorstep and your hosts are experts at introducing them to you. And when it comes to hospitality, delicous food, drink and amenities (free WiFi, spotless rooms)- you're in for a 5 Star experience at an incredibly reasonable price! Even more special are the people you will meet at the Hotel and in Asturias-I'm already planning my next trip!

The scenery here is spectacular, and after spending most of my adult life in Aspen, that is saying something. The view from this place alone is worth the trip, however it is the charming hospitality that makes you want to come back. This place is run by the most delightful couple - a Spaniard and an American. They are passionate about what they do, and want to make your experience in Asturias special. It shows in all the little touches that they do, from beautiful fresh flowers plucked from the garden on the table tops to Judy's homemade bread at every meal. They arrange for massages in your room, and can even accommodate laundry service. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, new and modern and so are the bathrooms, like what we are used to the US but often do not find in Europe. After a gorgeous day of hiking, I returned to my room for a massage, then had a long hot bath before gorging myself on a delicious and healthy dinner made with locally sourced produce.

Owners Judy and Juan Carlos were visionary to have restored this property and opened it for travelers who enjoy places off the beaten track. I have stayed a week every summer for the past three, bringing with me artists to paint and draw the remarkable and diverse Asturian landscape. Judy and Juan Carlos have made my workshops a pleasure for me to conduct. While I paint with the group they take care of every single detail from preparing exquisite meals and evening entertainment to providing the best guides ever imagined and even offering alternative activities for non-painters in the group. Despite the beauty of the region's mountains and coastlines that we explore, Fuentes de Lucia is so unique itself that this summer my group requested to stay put for a day to picnic, paint, and savor this amazing place.

The Fuentes de Lucia Rural Hotel (www.fuentesdelucia.es) is an excellent choice for your stay in Asturias. The hosts, Judy and Juan Carlos are really nice. Judy is a superb chef and Juan Carlos is the most interesting story teller and a very attentive person - always checking that everything is "top notch". The location is superb. Awesome places for hiking and bike riding. Trully recommend this place. Clara Salgado Portugal

Everything raved about in the previous reviews is true!! My "Walk and Talk" week-long retreat at Fuentes de Lucia was wonderful. My "Room With a View" was lovely. The Spanish teacher, guides and staff were great. The food was fresh and delicious. Asturias is green and beautiful. When my plans changed last minute, Judy, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure that I made my flight home from Madrid. So that I didn't miss my last day's hike she, herself, made taxi, bus and hotel reservations for me. Hotel Fuentes is very unique and very special!

Had a wonderful week at this very rustic yet sophisticated B&B. I was part of a yoga/hiking retreat and every day was well-planned and the staff was eager to please, informative and flexible. I had a private room and bath with a terrace and everything was spotlessly clean, room was spacious and the views were spectacular. Breakfast and dinner were included and the flood was always well-prepared, fresh, simple and delicious. We had a few folks in our group with special food requests (vegetarian, gluten-free) and they were always accommodated.
A pleasant surprise was our hiking guide, Camillo, who added so much local, cultural history to our walks, It made every day a new adventure.
