Cabanas de la Iguana came highly recommended by friends who had spent time in Ayampe and it did not disappoint. Sandra is so friendly and makes you feel right at home. Even if your Spanish isn't the strongest, she is very patient and expressive and chatting with her was a highlight of the trip. We stayed in one of the...

We stayed here for two weeks and had such a great time. Sandra is one of the nicest people I've ever met. She doesn't speak English but will do everything she can to make sure you understand her! There is a great open-air hangout area and kitchen. Wifi works well and there are lots of hammocks to chill out in....

Our experience here was beyond incredible. For starters Sandra, the woman who works at Iguanas is incredible! She works so hard, and goes out of her way to make sure you're having a comfortable stay. She's also a great person to practice your Spanish with. She makes you feel fluent by speaking slowly and with a lot of hand gestures....

I've stayed at this hostel on 3 separate occasions now since coming to Ecuador and it is definitely one of the many reasons that keeps me coming back to Ayampe. Sandra goes above and beyond to accommodate. There is an awesome outdoor hangout space with a kitchen. Kitchen can get a little crowded at times, but is generally well-stocked. Rooms...

As i said we were treated very kindly by the staff but our cabana didn't had hot water. When i brought up the issue with the owner, hoping to get discount for the inconviniences she refused to help, arguing that the issue was settled because we could use the common bathroom, and that the weather wasn't cold enough to use...

My friend and I chose to stay here for Carnival because it was one of the cheaper and better looking places that was still left. We arrived early morning because we took a night bus from Quito and they immediately began to accommodate us. We were allowed to keep our things in the front until our rooms were ready and...

We loved Ayampe so much we had to return on our way back to Columbia. Sandra and Galvin are terrific hosts and made our stay very enjoyable, they even remembered us from the last time we were there. The hostel is super chill with a nice little kitchen and hammocks. The rooms are really comfy and everyone has their own...

You won't regret to stay at this beautiful beach, surrounded by passion fruit trees and the company of Galvan, who runs it. Walk around the beach and get a less crowded beach than Montañita. Enjoy the Quincho and the hammocks

We were recommended this place and told "if you stay at Iguana, you get Galván looking after you" and we weren't disappointed. He and his lovely wife Sandra run Iguana with loving care as it is also their home. The place is peaceful and surrounded by a tropical garden full of fruit, hummingbirds, and medicinal plants used by Galván. Sandra...

The other reviews are all true. The family who runs this hostel are beyond welcoming. The rooms are basic but meticulously clean and much cheaper than most other options in town, which meant that we could stay for longer! There is free wifi and a lovely gazebo and kitchen surrounded by a beautiful garden. We would recommend this place to...
