t is in the calm of the pretty Champsaur valley in the family ski resort of Ancelle, just 17 km from Gap, that the history of the Hotel Les Autanes was born in 1950. Here, on the edge of the Parc des Ecrins, our family continues with simplicity, friendliness, generosity and good humor, the tradition of hospitality started by our parents and grandparents Milou and Rosette at the origin of the hotel, but also pioneers with some Ancellus friends of the creation of the ski resort. Staying with us is the promise of an authentic parenthesis in a family home with a warm and benevolent welcome. Carefully furnished to offer you optimal comfort: 11 superior rooms where the charm of wood meets modernity A wellness area with sauna, hammam, multi-jet shower and whirlpool bath. A covered and heated swimming pool with its invigorating infinity SPA A bar, two dining rooms and a shaded terrace in summer. It is a constant attention that awaits you here and which, we hope, will make you want to come and discover our mountains as beautiful in summer as in winter...

Hotel Les Autanes is a good standard hotel in a nice location in the centre of town. Ancelle is a small ton but none the less there are a few services here and a great brewery so its nice to be close to them.

Its a bit of a pain to walk to the slopes in the ski boots however being about a 300 metre walk and it can be quite slippery if icy - you could drive down and park there as there is parking at the lifts if your early as day trippers tend to arrive a but later. Parking near the hotel can be a bit of a pig really but you'll find something eventually.

The hotel itself is at a good standard for the money, rooms reasonably sized for Europe and the service is helpful and friendly enough (compared to European standards).

They did let us check in early and use the change room later in the day on our last day which was appreciated. Overall would return to this hotel and would recommend it.

We arrived as a group of 8 in 4 open cars on a very hot day. What a joy to have use of a really warm part-covered swimming pool.
Family owned, as most Logis de France, and a lovely friendly family.
Some rooms are across the road, but as there is no traffic, this is not a problem

We came with my wife to enjoy our vacation and we really did. A big plus is the pool, really clean and perfect view. Breakfasts and dinners delicious, rich choice. Location is great, you can walk around and explore nature. Price is reasonable, we were satisfied.

When you make trip in France with your motorbike and the day of arrival you have delay because traveloffice gave you wrong adress. You let know the problem to this hotel and confims you have 220km to go with temperatur from 38 degrees. We arrived at 21.05 and owner of hotel says that the only thing he will do is give you a bottle of water and also confirms that all restaurants are closed in the village. We had luck that one of the employees heared what happened and showed us the way to other restaurant. Next evening, almost same … the restaurant of the hotel did not open … conclusion of the story: no passion at all …

I was quite disappointed with my stay. It advertises itself as a spa hotel but even guests have to pay to use it and only when booked in advance. The main pool was cold and no one lasted more than 5/10 minutes in it. We only had one towel between two of us and when we asked, were still not provided with another. The food was overpriced in the restaurant and it was very noisy in the dining room in the evening so you had to shout over the table at each other and we had to wait an hour between ordering and getting the starter. We also found the room too cold and so turned the heating up but every day the cleaner would turn it down again so it never had the chance to heat up.

Really friendly welcome, a nice room with views of the mountains, the hotel is a little tired but is welcoming and homely. A good restaurant with an excellent menu.
This is a ski resort so not a lot will be open during the summer, however it is picturesque and the hotel offers all you need.
Well worth visiting.

We have just returned home having spent a short weekend break in Ancelle, staying at the Hotel Les Autanes. This was our first experience of this hotel, which had been recommended to us by friends, and we were not disappointed.
The service was excellent, the food lived up to its reputation and the accommodation was very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and offered lovely views of the magnificent local scenery. For the standard of service on offer, we did not consider it to be unreasonably priced.
A special mention must go to Beatrice and Daniel at reception/bar/breakfast/dinner who provided a very genuine welcome and looked after us very well throughout our stay. Thank you both for making our weekend extremely enjoyable.
We would strongly recommend the Hotel les Autanes as an excellent choice for an early summer break. It must be truly impressive in the snowy winter season and we will try to find the opportunity to return to see the area in a different season.

Very nice hotel, with full mountain typical type, and very good gastronomic restaurant.
Rooms are very nice, and only small remark about beds a bit too hard for me.
Breackfeast is very good
Possibility to rent and store ski stuff in the shop in front of the hotel.
All family happy !

We spent a lovely weekend in this little village lost in mountains. For our first year of wedding we took the SPA service with an amazing massage for my wife and I. We discovered delicious specialities made by the chef.. We will surely come back. I highly recommend this place!!

"If you are a light sleeper you will need a room on the top floor as the floors are quite creaky so you can hear guests above walking about. Also the church is very close to the hotel so ask for a room at the back of the hotel, however not sure how much difference this will make."
