The lady running the park was lovely and it's location is nice (you can hear the waves crashes all night :))
There were alot of Mozzies around, so come prepared with aeroguard and coils. They were also in the showers.
Unfortunately the 'road' in the park is all gravel and there is a big drop when you first drive in. I was driving a golf wagon and towing a teardrop camper and I couldn't get out of there. There were three kind men that came to help and one towed the camper out.
When I went to drive my car out it still struggled and the boot wasn't even full.
Please keep this in mind when booking.

We went to this park in our caravan, it was packed full, we had booked ahead but wow! It was totally full and very hard to park a van as they are in lines, one in front of the other. We can live with that, however, I think there should be a law about how many toilets and showers there are compared to how many people booked in, there was 3 toilets and 2 showers for females and about 100+ people at the caravan park. Needless to say, the bathroom was filthy from so many people using it. For sometime there was no toilet paper. The bathrooms were cleaned but with so many people it was impossible to keep it anywhere hygienic. There was also only 1 water tap between 2 vans, so lucky we knew the people in the van behind us so we could switch the water over from van to van when we wanted to use it. I did say it was cheap, but really... $35 for a couple, per night, is not that cheap, it was just the only place available. I hate giving anything but 5 star reviews but this I can only give 3 stars and I think thats generous, I guess camping we get all kinds of experiences but this is one I'd rather not repeat.

Princetown is a lovely little town, and perfectly located close to the 12 (actually 7) Apostles. This park overlooked the Gellibrand River estuary, was next to the General Store and across from the Tavern. My girlfriend and I stayed in Cabin 1. There was a Queen plus a Single Bed which was perfect for us. Both beds very comfortable. Good quality linen/towels etc. Old but lovely and clean. No cooking facilities or refrigerator (or TV) but the Campers Kitchen was close by. This had hotplates, microwave, large refrigerator, kettle and toaster etc. however no saucepans/frypans/crockery/cutlery etc. in the Cabin we had all the makings for a cup of tea or coffee supplied (including 2 mugs) as well as a 2 lt bottle of spring water (a nice touch) but had to walk down to the kitchen to boil the water. Just an electric kettle would have been perfect. This was our only complaint but at $80 for the night we were probably being picky. They have just built a new deck out from the Kitchen area with tables and benches. The view from here is gorgeous overlooking the Gellibrand River. We bought a $20 pizza (absolutely delicious) from the Tavern for dinner and sat on the deck at sunset. Lovely! Plus we had the same view for our breakfast. All in all a great stopover. Lovely friendly people. Thanks Annie.

This place is really beautiful, well worth a stay if you want to break up your visit to the great ocean road.
The Gellibrand river is a great spot for fishing.
Not much within walking distance however the river mouth is a short drive to the car park and then 500mrtre walk to the ocean. The 12 Apostles are a 10min drive and the family friendly beach town of port Campbell just 15min drive.
Amenities are regularly cleaned and there is both an indoor and outdoor kitchen with toaster, kettle fridge, dishwashing facilities and a grill.

The campsite was very quiet with lovely views. However we were not told a check out time and when we went to use the showers at just after 10am we were told they were closed and we had to be off site. We had to go and wash in the public restrooms at the Twelve Apostles - which were beautiful and very close and well recommended!

Our family of 5 needed cheap accommodation for a one night stop over along the Great Ocean Road and this did the job. The cabins are basic but come with linen and are tidy and comfortable. Small park with a nice outlook over the river.

This is a great base to use for exploring the Great Ocean Road. Located approximately 3-4 hours from Melbourne, we stayed here for 2 nights in an 'overnight' cabin for $60 a night. The cabins were simple and cozy and very very clean. They even had a wall heater which definitely would come in handy as it gets quite cold (even in November). Shared bathrooms and kitchen were also kept clean. The view was lovely, the park was relaxing and peaceful. Definitely a great alternative to staying in one of the bigger, busier towns.

The 12 Apostles are located very close by and many other amazing attractions along the road are all within an hour away. It's easy to spend all day exploring though. Princetown itself is essentially just the camp ground, a general store/cafe (good for a quick simple bacon & eggs breakfast), and another store which never seemed to be open when we were around.

Would definitely stay here again.

In a very quiet location, this caravan park is tiny compared to most along our coastline. The powered sites are generous in size but somewhat uneven so bring plenty of blocks to level your van. Each site is covered in a lovely thick layer of well maintained grass. The amenities are old but clean. Camp kitchen is very good as well. I’d happily stay here again. However, due to the nearby wetlands there are heaps of bugs, bring repellent.

When driving the wonderful Great Ocean Road you can escape from the big sites (Big4 etc.) which are great for families and stay at the Apostles Camping Park. We had a warm welcome and a choice of sites for our rental motorhome. The site is terraced, with level green pitches and with some lovely views. There are a number of walks from the site down to the estuary which are worth doing. The site has a small shop stocking the essentials and there is a bar/resturant/bottleshop across the road. The facilities are not 'posh' but perfectly acceptable. We'll look it out if that way again.

After dancing a terrible tango with some gawd awful drivers on the great ocean road, I decided to pull off at the next caravan park at lunch time. My nerves were frayed and I had the shakes from the first hints of an anxiety attack after watching some poor road raged driver nearly kill himself to get around someone doing less than half the speed limit for no apparent reason other than he's incompetent of handling a vehicle.

And so I found myself in this darling little camp ground. My easy going hosts sympathised with my experience. Validating my worries and soothing my nerves. Then offered me a lovely powered site to soak in the view and shed the roads torment for an afternoon.

The whole site is grassed with a thick carpet of lush green. Each site is fenced in a birds nest of healthy hedgerows and the amenities are clean and thoughtful. There is a peaceful view of one river or another, I was too concerned with detoxing the day's experience to find out which, to stare at and let carry your worries away. Across the road is the local tavern and the office is a small general store. Once I parked there was no reason to move again.

I'd happily recommend the Apostles Camping Park & Cabins to everyone traveling through. Or maybe I won't so it stays my little secret.

From the vantage point of the Park we could see a road leading across the river and possibly to a beach. The turnoff to that road was just past the township of Princetown. Not sure how safe that beach would be for swimming given the coastline down that way. The river looked OK for fishing though. Im sure if you ring the Park they will be able to give you all the info you need. Cheers
