This accommodation was a little bit of paradise. It is so close to the 12 Apostles and is easy to find. Amazingly clean and quiet with plenty of room for families. Beautiful surrounds. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, large living and dining area.

Some words to sum this place up: relaxed, spacious, comfortable, basic, dated, no A/C (didn't end up needing it), friendly hosts, great location
No phone reception except Telstra (we did get some optus reception in some parts), full TV reception
No air conditioning - we survived, but thought that the first evening would be a disaster being so hot. By 8pm it had cooled down and it was fine. Looking around at other options locally, this seems pretty standard, except for a couple of places in port Campbell. In fact, compared to local places, this is close to 5 star accommodation. There is a highly rated accommodation 500m up the road, Pebble Cove, which is a glamping tent with separate but individual bathrooms but shared semi outdoor kitchen, which in the rain we had one evening would have been a disaster. I'm very happy with our choice.
Massive two bedroom with a living room bigger than our first unit, and very large kitchen/dining room. Each bedroom has enough room for a portacot.
They provide soap, dishwashing liquid (lots), washing machine powder (lots), tea, coffee (instant), mosquito coils, kettle, toaster, oven, stove top, microwave, pot, saucepan, frying pan, strainer, cheese grater, salad bowls, lots of cups, glasses, plates, masher, tongs, bottle opener, lots of cutlery, dish cloth, drying cloth, and separate shared laundry with washing machine but no dryer, clothes horse, large fridge with freezer.
What you need to bring: shampoo, conditioner, salt, pepper, oil, milk, cling wrap, aluminum foil, fly spray, proper coffee, plunger, and food from a bigger city because the general store only had very basic and very expensive stock. Not many places to eat out close by - the general store is mainly a cafe (very well rated and reasonable price with an awesome view) with very tiny supplies of the most basic supplies, there is a local tavern that makes pizzas and similar meals which is a lot more expensive than I expected. Otherwise Port Campbell is the place to go for a proper restaurant, and a much better stocked but very expensive general store.

Despite being close to the great ocean road it is very quiet and nights are even quieter which makes a great night sleep. The bed is super comfortable
The owners are relaxed, friendly, and helpful. I would imagine they would do anything to help
The location is beautiful, with views over rolling countryside.

This is so close to the best parts of this coastline, it is a great place to stay and venture out from. The other option is bigger towns like port Campbell but we were very happy here. I think I said it before but it's worth repeating, it was so relaxing!

In regards to the photos, there are ones of our cabin and some of others - you'll note that the others look a lot more modern but aren't as big, whilst still being very spacious. I went wandering so that there can be some photos for people to see as there are almost none on their website. There are 5 cabins in total, four of the two bedroom cabins share a wall but from there it is very spaced out and private.

We'll be back!

Clifton Beach Lodge Apartments was a convenient location close to the Twelve Apostles, didn’t see a beach but nestled in the country. Nice to look out and see green grass and trees and hear the sound of birds. The accommodation had all amenities although all we needed was a comfortable bed and it had that. Our “apartment” or rather wooden cottage could sleep six but we only needed and used one bed in one room. The downside was that there was no milk for that cup of tea we craved. Also some knocking wood kept us awake during the night. We never met our hostess but she sounded helpful on messaging.

Such a quiet place! We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin. It was lovely!! Lots of kangaroos on the hills and fields next door, we were able to see them from the kitchen window, it was fantastic!! And close to the twelve apostles, london bridge, lord ard gorge and a few towns/supermarkets/restaurants (not walking distance though).

We stayed in the Latrobe lodge for 2 nights between Christmas and new year. Would definitely recommend! Such a peaceful location with great views from the decking. Lodge was very clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen area. BBQ area was superb and we used on both nights (although supermarkets are a distance away as others say). There are kangaroos in an adjacent field! Only slight issue was the tv didn’t work but we weren’t there to watch tv! A great spot if you want to get to the 12 apostles before the crowds!

If you want a quiet stay with NO personal service, this is the place for you. Virtual check in was great. Cottage was clean, nice towels, bed OK, great location to 12 Apostles. They require you to clean your dishes and put them away but there was no kitchen towel. I emailed asking for a towel and she responded by email and said it was under the sink. But none was there. I emailed her this. No response. I went down to the BBQ and saw a towel there so I took that one back up to our cottage to use. I knew that there was no restaurant or grocery store nearby so I had planned to BBQ for dinner. We stopped at a grocery store bought steaks and veggies to grill for a nice dinner. The BBQ did not work. I called the owner twice and also emailed her, with no response to either. I ended up cooking our steaks in a very thin cheap pan on the provided hot plate that barely got hot enough to cook it. I also had no oil or butter to use (because I wouldn’t have needed it to BBQ). The one kitchen knife there was so dull it barely cut bread. Totally ruined our planned romantic BBQ dinner. Very Disappointed! But mostly disappointed in the non response from the owner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the great Ocean Rd and loved how close we were to most of the scenic points we wanted to see. There is not a lot around and that was perfect. The BBQ facilities were great and we loved sitting around the camp fire at the end of the day. Spacious accommodation, very clean and comfortable.

We stayed here for two nights to be close to the Twelve Apostles. We had organised a helicopter flight and wanted to be as close as we could be for an early morning flight.
This lodge is just minutes down the road and allows for a leisurely start to the day as the helicopters do not start until 9am.
We were in a cabin with two bedrooms and both were clean and comfortable. It was great being able to open the windows for fresh air and have plenty of room to roam about.
We bought all our food with us and made use of the BBQ which was great.
All in all this is a great place to stay. There are however a few things to keep in mind.
The bathroom was getting a bit sad, obviously is is a do it yourself made cabin and the particle board around the basin was sagging and will need to be replaced.
The lights in the dining area were in the wrong place and so sitting down to dinner meant we were shadowing our meals and it was quiet dark.
I would have concerns if a wheelchair was involved as the path down to the rooms is merely a slope of grass and quite steep. You would not be able to get to the BBQ if in a wheelchair.
Not that it was a problem, but you are no where near the beach.
Despite its rural outlook there were few birds and we did not see any other native animals. Perhaps as the garden grows this will rectify itself.
All in all, if you want to be close to the Twelve Apostles and Gibson Steps then this is the place to stay. When the crowds disappear in the afternoon or you get to the Gibson Steps early in the morning you will appreciate the quiet and you will be virtually the only people there. It is worth it just for the experience of being on the beach or at the viewing platforms with no one else about.
Bus groups come down from Melbourne each morning and leave in the afternoon. Trust me the crowds are HUGE!
If you can avoid it then your experience will definitely be a whole lot better.
