I stayed there for one night after having a lunch at a local winery. Glenlowren is off the main road by approximately 2 kilometers, and that is part of its charm. As you drive through the working farm, the feeling strikes that you could be anywhere in the country. Far away from the maddening crowd especially while this insidious Corona Virus news infiltrates our every thought.
The owners are very quiet people, reflective of the whole establishment. Lots of privacy and scenery. Our cottage was extremely tastefully decorated and everything seemed to be in the right place. Cutlery for example was high end, the orange juice was fresh, the milk in small GLASS bottles and even the area out front had been newly raked removing traces of past foot traffic.
I booked through QANTAS and subsequently was granted points as well. I would highly recommend Glenlowren for a weekend stay.

My husband and I spent one night in the Garden Suite as we had a wedding in the Yarra Valley. The booking process was very straightforward and the information on the website clear and accurate.
On arrival we noticed the freshly cut flowers and everything was clean and well set up.
The breakfast provisions were generous, and we were given an option prior to arrival to advise if we had any particular dietary requirements.
Due to the changeability of the weather... we got to use both the heater and cooling function of the air conditioning - both worked very well.
We found the suite really comfortable, spacious, peaceful and quiet. There was a lovely attention to detail, including a night light in the bathroom and even a lemon juicer in the kitchen.
The aspect through the front window was delightful - well tended garden.
Thanks Tinne

My husband and little baby just stayed 2 nights at Glenlowren. We had the most wonderful time. The land that the cottage is situated on is so well kept, the cottage itself is beautiful! So clean and has so much charm and character. Our little babe is crawling, so staying at a property that is safe and clean is so important and Glenlowren had this in spades. Little miss was able to explore and really enjoy herself too! There is a large window in the lounge overlooking the fields and cows came up to the fence, our little girl loved it. An incredibly functional kitchen that has been stocked with local produce (fresh milk, juice, eggs, tomatoes, honey and more). A huge bathroom with spa bath and large shower and a really well sized bedroom with luxurious bed sheets and a stunning view of the lake. So picturesque and beautiful. We spent time outside on our picnic rug soaking up the views and then walked around the property. We saw chickens, cows, sheep and horses (amazing!), we frolicked through the gardens as there are so many beautiful trees and flowers and then through the owners veggie patch. So incredibly cool. The property is so close to everything the Yarra Valley has to offer! We went to the Yarra Valley Dairy, Healesville Sanctuary, a number of wineries for lunch and dinner. We had such a special time. Thank you to the owners for having us, we would highly recommend and will be organising not only to stay again but for family to stay too! Take Care!

We stayed in Glenlowren Cottage for 3 nights. The cottage overlooks a dam and is surrounded by fields and hills. It has been thoughtfully supplied with everything you could need, including a laundry. There are fresh eggs to cook for breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. The serenity and beautiful views make Glenlowren an easy place to relax in and a hard place to leave. Yarra Valley wineries are a short drive away. Highly recommended.

My family spent an idyllic 4 days in Glenlowren’s Nissen Hut, set in the beautiful and tranquil Yarra Glen. The chalet is equipped with every modern convenience, but it was the wood fired heater that was its best feature, easily keeping at bay the frosty July temperatures. Our hosts Tinne and Pieter had a welcome fire burning when we first arrived. We were supplied with tasty breakfast fare each morning and there are plenty of winery restaurants in easy driving distance. My son loved seeing the cows close up (this is a working farm) but it was the board games and card games we all played around the table with the fire crackling in the background that we enjoyed the most. As an opportunity for a family to relax and reconnect in amongst a beautiful country setting, this place comes highly recommended by us.

Thank you for reviewing your stay at the Nissen Hut. We are thrilled to hear that you were able to enjoy the wood fire as much as you did. I agree, nothing beats the comfort of a warm fire and have some family time together whilst playing cards and boardgames. We hope to welcome you back when you plan to travel east again.

We stayed in the Nissan Hut to escape the Grand Final Weekend and it was such a good decision. The accommodation is immaculate and has every creature comfort you could ask for. Centrally located in the Yarra Valley wine region the property is a great base camp for those wanting to explore more of the region or a haven to escape and recharge. The Nissan Hut is spacious with very high quality appliances throughout. For international tourists this is a great base to visit what is on offer in the area including Healsville Sanctuary, wineries, ballooning and so much more. For ‘locals’ such as ourselves and those from interstate it is a perfect place to stay and tour during the day and chill out at night. There is also a local butcher (apologies for those who are vegetarian or vegan) that is only 3 minutes away that sell some incredible local produce. Can not recommend more highly.

We stayed in the Nissen Hut, which was stunning - just like the photos. Our aim was to explore the Yarra Valley, but wewould have been just as happy to just sit inside the whole time by the fire and watch the cows, sheep and kookaburras through the windows. Waking up to the sound of mooing was a joy. A great base to explore the region, or literally to do nothing.

I feel very fortunate that my first escape from lockdown was two nights in the Nissen Hut at Glenlowren. The Hut was perfect with great attention to detail . Delicious breakfast was provided and the outlook from every window was beautiful.
I hope to one day return.
Thank you Glenlowren for a wonderful getaway.

The Nissen Hut is an amazing place to stay. The hut contains everything you could want/need. Immaculately clean, gorgeous furnishings and wonderful outlook. Located in a nicely private setting with stunning flora to provide superb views whether you are inside or out. Travelling in April the trees had some gorgeous colours. Would definitely stay here again.

A very relaxing and tranquil setting. The accommodation in the Nissen hut was excellent, with everything that you could ever need. Beautiful views out across the paddocks - watching the cattle settle for the night on dusk. Perfect.
