Borgo is the Italian word for village. Borgo Egnazia, a stroll from the Adriatic Sea on the fertile plains of Puglia, is a village of dreams hewn in the beautiful white Tufo stone of the region. If it had existed in ancient times it would have been the eighth wonder of the world! But although it looks as if time, sun, footsteps and sea breezes have weathered its facades, Borgo Egnazia is a 21st century creation that sparks the imagination with its characterful buttresses and the higgledy-piggledy layout of the casette around the central Piazza. You arrive at La Corte (the court), which sits like a manor house or Moorish Castle to the side of the village. It's a castle of troubadours and sanctuary though, not of battlements. Here are rooms where you can take your sojourn with us, descending the sweeping stairway to enjoy the bars, restaurants, terraces, spa and pools as well as the many secreted, gently lit bowers in a labyrinth of corridors that make it seem as if you had entered the Temple of Aphrodite! Alternatively you can choose to stay in one of the Borgo's casette, a deux or as a family of four, which nestle around two piazzas down bougainvillea- scented alleyways that you would swear had been there since the days of carts and horses. Larger families might prefer to take one of our 29 villas that fringe the village with their own plunge pools and shaded gardens, lush with oleander and rosemary. Borgo Egnazia is hard to describe. It's a place like nowhere else, with so much thought having gone into every detail. You have to come and experience it for yourself. What we have done is given glimpses about the many characteristics of the place. We hope you enjoy these. If they conjure in your mind the sense of a place rich in earthy provenance, splendid in its imagining and deeply restorative in its comforts and perfection, then our words will be doing some justice to the reality of Borgo Egnazia. Vair Spa Vair is emphasizing the role played by internal beauty, which illuminates each one of us and never deteriorates. We are introducing the results of a year's worth of research into an essential theme: The fulfillment of the psyche, that can be searched in a series of extraordinary treatments born precisely from this vision. Before choosing the best tailor-made spa itinerary, our guests often say they would like to feel happier after their treatments. This is why we suggest that you do not miss the life-changing treatments, which are carried out in the friendly and inviting atmosphere at Vair, the innovative and modern Mind & Body Spa surrounded by Puglia's natural beauty. We train every day to have the clearest attitude in welcoming you. The Training of the Spa Team has been extra-ordinary. Inspired and excellent teachers, all masters in their arts, left us tools and knowledge to enhance our methods for delivering committed Spa experiences in this changing world.

Borgo Egnazia stands out as a charming hotel that captivates many with its magical and authentic atmosphere, although a handful of guests feel it could be more vibrant. The amenities are frequently lauded for their luxurious comfort, offering a balance of relaxation and activity. Staff members earn rave reviews for their warmth and attentiveness, enhancing the overall service experience.
While the spacious and tranquil rooms are a highlight, some guests suggest improvements in power accessibility and booking processes. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently acclaimed, yet opinions on value are divided, with some guests finding the experience pricier than anticipated.

Entering the village you have a feeling of peace. The structure is of indescribable beauty. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest details. The staff is super trained and very kind. We stayed in the Corte area and everything is connected from the reception to the spa, from the swimming pools to the main restaurants. The Christmas markets inside the central square are something special. A truly lovely atmosphere. Experience to try at least once in your life ❤️

We spent 3 nights here, our ‘room’ was a two bedroom casa, with a private courtyard and rooftop terrace. Plenty of room for the 4 of us! We had a wonderful time.
Highlights: Breakfast was amazing. We loved the buffet and a la carte options. Pools. All stunning. Worth noting the indoor pool has limited times it is open for children. Lots of treats were left for us at various times which made things feel special. Kids club had great offers and the kids enjoyed going. Spa - the best massage I have ever had and stunning relaxing area.
The meal at Due Camini was a real experience.
Very little I can fault, we did find the regular dining options fairly cost prohibitive although the children’s meals were great quality.

Last Friday I was with friends in this place to enjoy a pizza, fairytale village from 1 to 10 would give 11, great organization and despite we only went on appetizer, pizza and dessert and a few bottles of bubbles to open and close the evening we were very satisfied, price much above average but definitely the location affects and not a little. What about stopping by the restaurant to update the review. For the moment I Recommendation the pizzeria, digestible pizza with local products.

We stayed in Borgo Egnazia for the Borgo festival Terrible. Staff not attentive to allergies. A severe allergy to milk protein (not intolerance) had been reported and I found nothing to eat. The pancakes with batter for the zucchini flowers mixed with milk (in other places they are mixed with beer or water) we asked for the zucchini flower pancakes but we could not eat them as they also had in the milk dough and were fried where the panzerotti were fried. Then the oil contaminated with milk protein because fried where panzerotti containing mozzarella were fried. In places like Borgo Egnazia fries should be fried in fryers or different pots to avoid contamination. Not to mention the sweet spot, Shameful. All sweets with cream and milk cream nothing that contained vegetable cream i.e. almond cream and vegetable cream, or simple almond cookies, or sweets with vegetable margarine, nothing. Just a little fruit, there were only 3 types of fruit: watermelon, figs, and yellow. We asked for a water-based ice cream, since there were no desserts for those who are allergic to milk protein, so it did not contain milk protein and in the ice cream shop there were But you will never believe it 👎 you had to pay for it while the other desserts were included in the menu Only in the stalls where there was fish you could find something without milk protein. A super luxury hotel and for what we paid is not prepared for this kind of allergies

Borgo Egnazia is a manufactured compound that like many of the Four Seasons, or Ritz Carlton properties could be located anywhere. It was pretty in a "Designed" sort of way but lacked a sense of place or soul. Why go to Puglia to be anywhere and not aborb the Pugliese way of life. What I liked about the property - in no special order: The staff was friendly The boutique had interesting items for sale that were unique to the region The color palette was soft and monochromatic There was nice soap in the bathrooms mounted to the wall The breakfasts were very good with a lot of options at the buffet The linens in the room were soft There are nice regional plantings around the property They attest to being sustainable Probably a good place for families that like staying on compounds and don't really want to learn anything about the region The cocktails at the bar were nice
What I didn't like - again in no certain order: The fact this property was manufactured and had no tie to the region While is was near the water the room had no view The different interior vignettes all look the same with similar props that seem to all come from some central accessories factory The layout of the central corridor was incredibly confusing and rather annoying The lighting of the main hall was too dark and the signage was almost invisible and rather annoying as well. Everything was way too expensive beginning with the room price per night It's a compound It's Pretentious For some reason the pool had really rough and sharp stone around it The sliding door that was located in front of the TV came off its track and was annoying. The bedroom was crammed full of "designed accessorization "and felt crowded The shower door never really closed The cost of food was 2 to 3 more expensive than what you would pay locally and not necessarily better.

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to share with your opinion on your experience at Borgo Egnazia. All comments and suggestions from our guests help us to improve every day. We are happy to read the positive aspects of your stay, surprised and sorry, on the other hand, for the negative ones. We regret not having been able to convey the soul of Borgo Egnazia. The magic of our places, the spirit of genuine hospitality of our staff, the surrounding area made up of traditional experiences and flavours make up the soul of Borgo Egnazia. The link with the region is perceived right from the construction material of the entire property, white tuff, Apulian stone. The same applies to all the details surrounding the Borgo, from the rooms to the common areas and restaurants. Even the lighting is deliberate to give guests the most relaxing experience possible surrounded by Mediterranean bush and centuries-old olive trees. We are sincerely sorry that we were not able to convey all this to you, but we hope nonetheless to be able to change your mind on a second occasion. Best regards, Borgo Egnazia Team

I had a bad first impression of Borgo Egnazia when I arrived after a long drive, and rather than being waved through the gate, was kept waiting while the porter stands there making notes on a clipboard about god knows what (while a line of cars also waiting starts forming behind), which was just a taste of how disorganised everything appears to be at the hotel. My experience didn't get much better from there, when I discovered my room wasn't ready (no big deal, I arrived an hour or so before check in time) and left my bags at reception to go and have lunch, only to be told that there's no space at the restaurant. So I sat in a corner at a low table with no choice but to order from the limited bar menu, and the food was incredibly disappointing. I was hoping this was a one-off: but no, my dinner that night (at the pizzeria in the Borgo square), and breakfast the following morning were both awful (and the service was terrible too, with me having to repeat orders and simply being ignored half the time). After my meal, I'm finally told that my room is ready, only for a receptionist to take me there and look very confused to discover that housekeeping has just started cleaning it. The place is basically a shambles I realised, so I just sat around in the hallway twiddling my thumbs until housekeeping left.
The hotel is massive and has a huge number of rooms, so if you like a sense of serenity or intimacy on your holidays, then this is definitely not the place for you. It seems to market itself heavily to families and has tons of child-oriented activities on offer and kids everywhere, so as a solo traveller looking for some peace and quiet it was basically a disaster. The property itself is pleasant and nicely designed, and has good facilities (nice, spacious pools), but that is really the only good thing I can say about the hotel: the experience as a guest is nothing short of terrible.
The "king" bed in my room was two twin mattresses pushed together, with the inevitable annoying seam running down the middle. Bizarrely, they offer you only oversized pillows which are clearly meant to be decorative, and are so spectacularly uncomfortable that I found it hard to sleep. Probably the worst bedding of any hotel I've stayed at in the past several years.
And all this for the price of.... 2,000 euros per night (for the cheapest room option). It is, without a doubt, one of the most insultingly overpriced hotels I've ever been to (and that's saying something). Don't waste your money - I'm being generous giving it 2 stars in my review, only because the grounds are quite nice.

Dear Guest, We carefully read your review, and we thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience, but we are very surprised and regretful to read these negative words about your stay. As a first thing we would like to apologize for everything that went wrong, these are undoubtedly very serious incidents for us. We value every detail, and all phases of our guests' stay, from arrival at the property to check-out time. And that's why we're amazed at all these problems you experienced. We would like to point out that we will elaborate on everything you tell us, making sure that none of this ever happens again. We are also surprised if our culinary offers did not meet your expectations. All these things we have explained to you and the care we put into everything we do daily justify our prices that meet the high standard of quality of the services we offer. Hoping to change your mind and make you finally experience a "Nowhere Else" stay, we sincerely hope to welcome you back to Puglia and Borgo Egnazia. Kind Regards, Borgo Egnazia Team

Borgo Egnazia canceled four room reservations out of nowhere with no explanation. I was planning on traveling to Borgo Egnazia with my extended family including one baby (we were celebrating her first birthday) in May. We woke up one morning to an email from the hotel saying the rooms we had booked five months ago were no longer available for our dates and we couldn’t stay at their property. They offered us no explanation why. They offered to rebook us at the Rocco Forte next door, which we heard was no as good for kids. They gave us only four days to let them know what our plan is with the rebooking or they would simply be canceled with no compensation, explanation or reimbursement for other sunk costs.
We now have 9 non-refundable flights from New York to Bari booked with nowhere to stay. They have ruined our vacation and we are out thousands of dollars.
We called the hotel and they simply said they were “closed” for our dates. We assume they had someone offer them a lot of money for a wedding buyout and decided to cancel all the rooms the other guests have booked. I imagine this happened to hundreds of other guests.
I highly advise against booking this hotel. They were rude, unhelpful, ruined our vacation and are leaving us out over $20,000 in non-refundable flights.

This place is the highest of high end resorts. The service is unsurpassed. the morning breakfast buffet exceeds even American selection expectations. You will find multiple pools, plenty of lounge chairs and pool attendants. They are there to meet your every need. They will even move your umbrella as the sun shifts. Food, drinks, towels, all are available upon request. Ditto for the beautiful beach club. The small shuttle runs every 20 minutes between the resort and the beach club. Of course all of this comes at a very high end price. All of the additional services require an additional fee. Food, classes, special resort events etc. Example, the Tuesday night barbecue cost $120 euros per person. I'd return if I found myself back in Puglia.

A beautiful hotel which is aesthetically perfect. Relaxing ambiance and extremely kind and helpful staff. Our local advisor Viviana was most helpful and there is a system in place whereby you can use what’s app to contact your local advisor with queries, large or small, at any time. This includes booking transport, restaurants and anything else. This hotel has exceptionally high standards and they endeavour to grant absolutely any request. Very helpful with babies and children including little things like having baby/ toddler bowls and cutlery available at breakfast, and providing a special baby towel or mat. The spa is lovely with highly trained therapists. I had a deep tissue massage from Naghir( not sure of spelling!) but it was one of the best I have had. The food is exceptional and there is a great choice. Vegetarians and vegans are well provided for, as well as those who prefer gluten-free. We weren’t keen on the beach restaurant. The staff weren’t as friendly and helpful as at the other restaurants and we felt it wasn’t good value for money. The other restaurants couldn’t have been more perfect. There is an option to have breakfast served at your villa- do this if you can as it is wonderful! Branded water bottles are provided by the hotel and these can be refilled at any bar whenever you want. The main bar is excellent with superb staff. If you can afford to go to this hotel, don’t hesitate. It is fabulous.

My wife and I booked Borgo Egnazia for 6 nights as a honeymoon where we could rest and at the same time admire the wonders of Puglia. We couldn't have made a better choice! in general the village is welcoming, well-kept and offers a lot of privacy as well as a profound ability to lose track of time and relax among its infrastructures and services of the highest level. Starting from the receptionist and concierge service we were welcomed impeccably and supported throughout the holiday in organizing our days: in the people of Paola Alessio and Marco we found a true point of reference, thank you! The spa is extremely welcoming due to the environments and services offered: The Yoga lessons held by Velio, a passionate person with a profound knowledge of the subject, are exceptional. We then tried the "married" day spa where we indulged in truly amazing pampering and attention all afternoon. Last but not least, the accommodations are spacious and romantic, impeccably maintained by a double shift of service (morning and evening). Special mention for Anna and Antonella who took care of our room with attention and care towards us. With our honeymoon we wanted to regenerate and metabolize the most beautiful day of our lives and thanks to Borgo Egnazia we succeeded!

a note: we did not use rather have a very fast and good way service. in such a Fien hotel no one does iron by himself.
