I will just start by saying that I am a very discerning customer and expect only the best.

We booked the whole property for my wife's 40th birthday.

To say expectations were exceeded is a complete understatement.

The palace is much better than the pictures and video. True quality and attention to detail in design were much appreciated.

Wilson and his team on site were extremely accommodating, we felt very looked after.

We created amazing memories here with friends and family and we can not wait to return.

Highlights were the private beach, cliffside apartments, the pool bar, the gardens, and grounds... Peacocks... The list goes on.

Thank you!

The Balaji Palace is a beautiful, unique property in Rio San Juan. Better than any hotel/resort we have been to in DR! It is surrounded by nature, has a private beach, multiple pools/seating areas that are all well kept. We spent a few days just relaxing at the property itself - there was no need to leave! The staff there is wonderful and cater to all your needs. The chefs were accommodating to our dietary restrictions which was great. The rooms in the main house are all large with beautiful views. It is a great location for events or a family/friend getaway. We will definitely be returning to Balaji Palace!

We spent a wonderful two days last week at Balaji Palace in Río San Juan. The main building is surrounded by lush gardens in four acres of lawns, flowers, fruit trees, several terraces overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Dozens of beautiful peacocks roam the property. They are very friendly and love to be fed. All the staff, especially Wilson the property manager, Alfredo the chef, and all the other staff were very courteous and helpful. It is hard to get such personal service in a hotel or resort. For those looking to host a family or corporate function in a quiet setting off the beaten path, I highly recommend Balaji Palace. The chefs prepared delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our taste (we were four vegetarians in our group). We will definitely return here for longer vacations and recommend Balaji to all our family and friends. By the way, the rooms are very spacious and well appointed.

With incredible views, rooms, staff, food, and drinks, the Balaji Palace is a little piece of paradise. The staff are all so incredibly welcoming and friendly- recommending the best Dominican drinks and explaining some of the delicious food (the conch was so good!). We were able to have productive workshops while sitting outside enjoying wonderful weather and views.

To say that Balaji Palace is paradise is a huge understatement. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the super kind and respectful caretaker, Wilson. He gave us a tour of the luxurious mansion, manicured grounds, and cliffside suites overlooking the ocean. My wife and I quickly changed and spent the afternoon sitting at the private beach and enjoying the sunset with a glass of chilled Moscato (I know, it was my wife's choice, I prefer Merlot :).. ). Its an experience that we will remember and treasure for the rest of our lives. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious with a balcony overlooking the grounds and eventually out to the ocean. I am an early riser and was delighted that the staff already had coffee and a table prepared to take in the beautiful view and listen to the ocean crashing down below. Truly grateful that we could spend time here and wouldn't definitely go back.

Our company hosted a leadership weekend at Balaji Palace and it was by far the nicest place I've ever stayed. The views are gorgeous and the architecture is stunning, but what made our stay so incredible was the staff. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating and kept everything spotless the entire weekend. I hope to go back one day :)

I booked the Balaji Palace for a company workshop retreat and everything was absolutely perfect. Juan the Manager is beyond helpful and the whole staff is extremely sweet. They cater to your every need. The food was delish and always ready when requested and the rooms are even better than the photos! Massive, beautifully designed and CLEAN! The bathrooms are massive. The layout of the house is nice because you have the main house, guest house and cliffside house, so separates everything nicely. Also, the private beach is unbeatable and you have amazing views! The whole staff and management were a pleasure to deal with and made the trip smooth and memorable. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Beautiful property where you can go to unplug from the rat race. The rooms are majestic and the service is impeccable. It's not the 100 mile an hour experience many resorts are. This is more a place you go to relax and get pampered. If you feel stressed out after a week here, you need professional help.

This is my first trip to the DR and I was very excited after I booked the vacation at the Palace... Based on the pictures, price and other reviews I was stoked!... At first glance the palace is everything it claims to be, however, it didn't take long for that image to change.

the food is very good but hardly what they claim... On the front side we were told they would make anything we asked for however there were two occasions when we were told they didn't have what we wanted. While dinner and lunch were varied breakfast was the same
thing everyday... Again not what you would expect for $500 per night..

There is no bar just a kitchen with snacks and drinks lined up on the counter and island. There isn't a bartender it is just who ever is working makes your drInk assuming they know how to make it...

So far on two different nights local sellers of merchandise came to try to sell their stuff... I am shocked a resort would allow this type of panhandling on property.. When I am at my hotel I do not want to be hassled.. Not t mention one night during dinner two guys with guitars showed up to play music at our table and try to sell cd's.... Are you kidding me????

The excursions were over priced for what you get.. We did the glass bottom boat and the jeep safari... The boat was cool for a bit but once we stopped at a beach it was a ful court press from the locals... In a matter if minutes we were bombarded by 4 different people trying to sell jewelry, hair services, petrified wood and music... Not what I expected...

The ac doesn't work well in the room And we had the most expensive room on property, the "jacuzzi" on our balcony is a tub that has jets, the water pressure is so low it doesn't accomplish the jacuzzi effect... More of a cold
bath....

The power went off three of the five days we were there...

Be prepared for what htis place is.. It's like going to visit a friend for vacation... Which is fine, but not at $500 plus a night!!!!!
