We booked into Pier Resort for 3 nights. It’s a strange set up - we booked through Pier Resort but it’s in the Oaks Resort. The resort seemed like a lovely clean and quiet place to stay. We were given a pool view room on the ground floor. Because the pool was closed , it was quiet but I imagine during summer it would be very noisy on the ground level.
We had very mixed feelings about our unit G1 ... expected a little bit more with cleanliness of the unit , but the size of the unit is great. There is a small kitchen ,aircond worked well, good size lounge , and a dining table with 2 chairs.
The unit is in a great position near the pier , well furnished with a very comfortable king size bed. We were given some fresh milk and juice in the fridge which was a nice touch.
Here are the things we were not happy about and why we wouldn’t stay at Pier 1 again....unless we previewed our assigned room before paying.
The bathroom was a disabled room which was fine with us but it needed some attention to cleaning. The shower tiles was very mouldy, the disabled shower seat was full of mould in the stand and joints. If I needed to use that seat I would not sit on that seat without a bottle of bleach first.
The toilet seat was loose and everytime you sat on it is moved to one side. Not very comfortable or safe.
The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups etc. but the dishwasher was out of order, there was no coffee machine as we were told we would get in the kitchen and the biggest disappointment was no free wifi..
We don’t expect luxuries in a hotel unit but we do expect it to be well maintained and clean. If you were looking to stay at the Resort maybe avoid unit G1 on the ground floor.

Absolutely stunning. Would have liked to stayed longer and we will definitely stay here next time and recommend to friends. Its just wow. We were in apt #14 on the third floor. Amazing sunset and sunrise views from the balcony. absolutely loved the huge sliding windows in the main bedroom and lounge. we didnt pull the blinds down at all and were able to enjoy the sunrise from bed. Excellent shower. Location was awesome. few minutes walk to pier, 20 mins walk along walkway path to marina or 14km walk the other direction. coffee and restaurants a minutes walk away. Two duck next door was great for takeaways and we sat on the balcony of apartment at sunset with wine. it was clean, convenient and we even enjoyed a dip in the pool.
Stunning ocean views.

We were in Hervey Bay for a funeral. The customer service was outstanding and staff were so helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and spacious. We were amazed that there were breakfast cereals, a 1 litre milk, a large apple juice and coffee pods in our apartment. The apartment is set up well for longer periods of stay. The views were fantastic and I would highly recommend it!

Booked a family holiday. Spend half an hour in the pool and the live in residents complained that they lived there even though pool times were between 7am and 7pm.

Owner Margie banned visitors on arrival so don't think you can invite friends or family over. You are constantly being watched.

Also the owner attempted to charge us another $600 and fine us also for having visitors wait for us in the foyer. The beach has no waves, the locals are feral. The owner is greedy and wants to start charging you for more for linen each day. We stayed a week with no room service, not enough toilet paper, was asked to empty dishwasher and clean the place afterwards. $280 per night is just ridiculous and it's not even a decent hotel with laundry services. Continental Breakfast supplied was two small packets of cornflakes, no milk, no butter.

This is a scam and be careful of the security camera in the house. We all changed naked inside the house without knowing we were being watched. This person Margy is bordering on criminal and should be wiped out of the Hospitality Industry.

She has been ringing our personal number long after our stay asking for more money. Definitely don't bring kids. The other residents should live in the outback so they can't hear anything, won't have anybody swimming in the shared pool, won't have increased traffic or business. Worse than a retirement home.

Harvey Bay is a great holiday spot but the manager/owner of this apartment is terrible to deal with.

We sent message to owner as soon as we arrived to say Air Conditioner not working. She apologised but it was not attended to for our entire stay (9days). Her excuse was AC company downstaffed due to COVID.

Then after our stay (2 1/2 weeks later) she charged us over $200 for repairs to AC, even though it never worked from the moment we entered the apartment. I even sent owner/manager copy of text message we sent her as soon as we arrived that AC not working, but she still proceeded to charge us for repairs to the AC that never worked. Blaming us that we tripped AC circuit breaker due to overloaded power points, such as using a laptop. However as already mentioned AC never worked for us from moment we checked in.
Also note that instructions once you check in to the apartment advise that Air Conditioner is on a 2 hour timer. If we’d known the Air conditioner was on a 2 hour timer that is not adjustable, (turns off automatically after 2 hours) before we booked we would not have booked this apartment, especially in Summer. But we didn’t get to use AC as it never worked!

Also there is no Foxtel, no Gym, (as advertised online) and we were only supplied with 1 bin liner for 9 night stay, and 3 Dishwashing tablets. For the price of apartment at least expect enough bin liners and DW tablets for your stay.
For price of this apartment you’d expect an Air Conditioner that actually works, an Air Conditioner that isn’t on a 2 hour timer, and not be charged for repairs to Air Conditioner that never worked from moment we stepped into the apartment.

No onsite manager , light globes required changing, was not fixed during our stay;toilet in main bathroom was not clean , toaster was not clean ; balcony tiles were also not clean ; all the above I advised manager same day of our arrival, after two more calls ; and promise of being fixed ;this did not happen. Very disappointing and I would not stay there again.

Firstly - I see this hotel is listed on 2 places on here - one with not so good reviews this page and then under Hervey Bay Waterfront Apartments and it's exactly the same place. Dodgy.

We booked in well in advance and all was lovely. We had the option to pay an extra $40 a night to upgrade and had the choice to be at Peppers resort (where they send a lot of people) or to sty at Hervey Bay Waterfront Apartments (also known as Pier One), we requested the pier one resort as were told that it was a lot quieter there and as we don't have children yet we wanted the quieter place.

We arrived and to our surprise we were put in Peppers. We said to the RUDE lady on reception there must be some sort of mistake and showed her all the paperwork showing where we requested Pier one NOT Peppers). She said she didn't know and they were fully booked so it had to be peppers and that we were given the upgrade for free. I said no we paid $40 a night for the upgrade so we're not being upgraded for free at all.

We went to our room, it was nice had a nice view etc, but man the pools were SO busy (Christmas time and expected for a resort like peppers, hence why we wanted pier one).

Manager or owner not sure who rang and this is where it went terribly wrong. SO rude, no people skills at all a real disgrace to all the lovely people in Hervey Bay. He told me that "I should stop complaining as there's real problems in the world", "suck it up" "What did I expect lady, it's Christmas time so lots of kids" and all sorts of other harsh terrible words like that. He also said that the pool at Pier one was busy all day everyday. Well I tell you every time we walked past there was not one person in it - EVER!!

He offered us our money back and to leave (not an option as nowhere else available, or to stay that night and then move us back to pier one which would "inconvenience his cleaners but never you mind"

He was so rude we just left it as is. What he could have easily said was look I'm really sorry there's been a little muck up you do have a fantastic room there so if you're happy to stay there we could split the upgrade down the middle $40 each or given us breakfast or something. But we didn't even get a sorry just a full blown rudeness of words.

We will NEVER ever stay here again. We've since spoken to someone else since home and they said they had heard the exact same thing about this man.

Room was nice but very dirty.

Book direct with Peppers and get a better deal, better customer service and you can actually ask reception for things and advice etc, we couldn't do any of that as we weren't technically booked into Peppers so had to ask the rude people at pier one, waterfront apartments which was down the road! They told us we weren't allowed to talk to the Peppers staff! So next time we would book direct with Peppers if we were to ever go back there.

In regards to where the hotel is it's in a pretty good location, Hervey Bay isn't somewhere where you can walk and see the whole main street as it's just soooo long, the hotel though is down by the pier. We liked it down by the marina that was lovely and so was the big boat club restaurant there that was fantastic.

Had a great time in Hervey Bay though, just will be choosing a different hotel next time and read the reviews properly next time rather than just this one wish I had of read Pier ones reviews first.

Stayed here with my husband for 4 nights, what a horrible experience!
Management threatened to kick us out for having a family LUNCH in the Apartment with elderly parents. Disgusting threatening us, terrible communication & person skills, it completely ruined our QLD holiday. Will tell everyone I can about the completely rude service.
The apartment was absolutely beautiful (the cleaning leaved a lot to be desired though) & it was really reasonably priced for everything that was offered, 2 bathroom, full kitchen , laundry & balcony but it was overshadowed by the old grumpy rude managers. If you don't like people enjoying their holidays and having family get togethers then DO NOT run a holiday apartment complex! The managers are NOT cut out for hospitality, you at least need to be able to be friendly and crack a smile without cracking your face to deal with the public! Hopeless & will spread the word ... Absolutely disgusting rude service! Will NEVER stay there again!
PS ... Hervey Bay is gorgeous .. Plenty of other BETTER resorts & apartments to stay at than this RUDE one!!!

We have just returned from a 4 night getaway to Hervey Bay staying in a room at Peppers Pier One resort. We booked through Waterfront Apartments with Peter Beattie and he gave us a great deal on a very luxurious apartment at Peppers, (Waterfront apartments also own about 14 apartments at Peppers) and so pleased we did, Peter and his wife were extremely helpful, and also helped us source a bike for our daughter to rent whilst we were there.
We were in room 306, a 2 bed apartment with a huge patio, which practically got the sun all day, plus had a great view, 2 bathrooms (1 had a spa bath which we only used once), fully equipped kitchen, so we had breakfast in our apartment on the patio, which was so relaxing. The pools were immaculately clean and very inviting.
We did a day tour of Fraser Island and a whale watching boat trip with Whalesong Cruises who I'd highly recommend, we saw PLENTY of whales. We will definitely go back.
