Yes, it needs updating but room was spacious and spotless. There is almost no accommodation in the incredible far west of KI and so KIWR was only option and was perfectly fine. The staff are lovely, food is priecy like everything on KI but fresh and tasty. The location is everything - wallabies and possums all around, and Flinders CHase...

Had the chance to have a last minute weekend escape to KI in November & found this last minute. Got an eco lodge room; which had everything I required; just looked a bit tired. I wasn't in there much; but hopefully it's in the budget for the place sometime soon. So lovely to wander around in the evening amongst wallabies...

This hotel is conveniently located just outside the nearby national park so it's a great base for exploring the local hikes and animal life, plus the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral Arch. There were wallabies in the grounds near the restaurant during the evening and we were able to get within a few metres so they were not timid. The restaurant...

Buildings are well integrated in the environment. Rooms could be updated for the price. We had dinner at the restaurant and loved it, it's not cheap but it was great food and elaborated dishes !!! Careful staff is nice but service is slow. We took a take-away picnic, it was good for a reasonable price. Breakfast was really average. After...

This property only has pros: - location: in the middle of the wilderness area with koalas, kangaroos, birds in the area; after a dusk tammar wallabies come to drink from a little pool next to the main building, koalas are everywhere around in the trees; - rooms: nice, spacious, very clean; - staff: very nice, friendly and helpful; - restaurant:...

We stayed in an Eco Lodge room which had holes in the bathroom wall where fittings had been removed and was generally tired and in need of an update. It was spacious enough but we were disappointed. The room also hadn't been cleaned properly before we arrived - in particular the microwave was filthy. It has a great location.

We stayed in an eco Lodge room. Perfectly comfortable and acceptable if a little tired, and (like everything else on Kangaroo Island) overpriced. Room had everything you need including WC/shower, a/c, rv and tea/coffee making facilities. Large double bed is two singles pushed together - mind the gap! Setting is glorious, with plenty of woodland walks and just a few...

Ok first of all there are surely much worse places to stay in and remote lodges tend to be a bit pricy on general. Let's start with the positive things. The location is great. 10 minutes drive to flinders Chase national park and even around the hotel some nice walls with the opportunity to spot wildlife. Very very nice staff....

Everything was fantastic - from the great emails organising accommodation, venue facilities, 3 course dinner for 30, staff, breakfast - there was nothing we could fault. The food for the dinner was amazing - could have been a gourmet meal in a city restaurant. The staff were very polite, helpful and happy. All 30 of us would love to return.

The retreat is a good place to stay when visiting Flinders Chase for the first time. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, although the air con in ours was pretty noisy. Staff were friendly & helpful and good provided service The restaurant is quiet good with a small but good menu at night, mind you there is no where...
