The Hilton Geneva Hotel & Conference Centre is commended for its cleanliness and modern rooms by numerous guests, who also enjoy the scenic views. The complimentary shuttle service and free transit passes are highlighted as valuable perks, though some have concerns about shuttle schedules and room availability. While the hotel's breakfast and convenient amenities receive praise, opinions are mixed regarding the value, with criticisms pointing to outdated features and an underwhelming executive lounge. Additionally, guests have mentioned the need for improved bed comfort and spa facilities.

Our family of five just returned from vacation in a few European cities, including Geneva. We are Hilton Gold members, and we decided to stay at the Hilton Geneva because it offered a better value than staying in the old city or near the water (Geneva can be very expensive). The Hotel is located near the airport and we were worried that it would be inconvenient to get into the Old City but that was not the case at all. The Hilton staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they quickly explained to us how to get complimentary bus right down to the lake (10 minutes, with a nice view of the city). A cab would been easy too but the bus was free and the kids enjoyed it. (Also - heading to the airport on the day our our departure was extremely easy - 3 minutes on the Hilton shuttle ...).

The breakfast at the Hilton is definitely worthwhile. Made-to-order omelets, a full selection of eggs, meats and potatoes every morning, plus a full traditional Swiss breakfast buffet. Wonderful. The pool area and gym were also first rate and our kids loved them.

All of that being said, the reason we decided to leave a review was because of the overall service, and how they address problems. For us, the ultimately test of a customer service experience is what an establishment does to correct a mistake. We had a slight concern which we expressed on Hilton's internal survey form. We never know whether anyone actually takes the time to read those, but the hotel manager DID read ours and immediately took action to address the issue to our full satisfaction.

Taking all of that into account, we were very pleased to leave a 5-star review and to recommend the Hilton to anyone visiting Geneva, whether for business or for family vacation.

This is a brand-new Hilton which opened on October 1st this year. It was previously the Starling Hotel. However, even allowing for teething problems and Covid restrictions, it needs to address some issues.
I will start with the positives. The staff are just great, from the reception through to our lovely chambermaid, the restaurant and the executive lounge. Definitely a cut above the average!
The restaurant was good, much better than it used to be when it was the Starling. The menu is the same whether you eat in the bar or the restaurant.
Our executive room was very spacious, quiet, and had a pleasant view. However, it may have been redecorated since Hilton took it over, but it certainly didn’t seem to have been refurbished. It was rather dated, particularly the bathroom, although everything was impeccably clean. There were no glasses in the bathroom, so nowhere to put your toothbrush or for rinsing your teeth, and the hairdryer was very old and primitive. Also, we were told to use the same bath towels for both the swimming pool and the room.
There was only one bedside table (nightstand), so the second person had no choice but to put everything on the floor (very annoying if you have a teacup, book, laptop…). There was no expresso machine in the executive room (come on, this is 2020!!), just a kettle with instant coffee and a couple of teabags. There were not even any spoons, which made it difficult to stir the coffee or fish out tea bags from the cup (spoons can be washed, so don’t blame Covid!). The flatscreen TV was nice and large but the remote control was an antique with no menu button or channel list, so although there was a good choice of channels, you had to click on each one individually to see what was on. It took ages to go through the list (to find the language channels you might want to watch) and unless you wrote down the various channels, you had to start again each time you turned on the TV. It was so useless and annoying that in the end we decided to use our laptops to stream TV.
The executive lounge was on the ground floor. It was adequate but not great. Unfortunately, it had no windows, so was dark and not particularly nice to sit in during the day. Also, it had very few electric sockets, so bring an extension cable with you if you want to work for any time on your computer.
The swimming pool was open to school classes, which is very laudable, but not so great for hotel guests even though there was a lane reserved for them.
All in all, we were rather disappointed with the hotel. Hilton has really missed an opportunity to introduce a modern, entirely refurbished hotel to the Geneva airport scene. Instead it is just another of the many mediocre 4-stars to choose from around the airport.

Our transfer driver could hardly find entrance of hotel and had to drive around twice to find it. Entering a hotel it actually feels like it has been closed down. Skeleton staff, no one to help with luggage and just a very outdated feel. Checked in and not even a question on whether we needed help with our ample luggage. Opened one of our rooms only to find it had been used by someone else and not cleaned. Reception reluctantly came up to give us a new room. Room service - if you can even find the menu, which you can only access by turning on the TV and scanning a code. Food ordered was nothing to write home about, especially for the price. Tea/Coffee selection minimal with sticks to stir and powder milk. We stayed in a Classic double room - not ideal if you want privacy in the bathroom - see through glass door. Only upside was the bed. It was comfortable. It feels like Covid has given this hotel the excuse to wither. Time for a serious revamp!

This is the former Sterling hotel, and even as a big Hilton fan and Elite member, this hotel could have better stayed Sterling which I frequented very often pre-Corona( I couldn’t observe any refurbishment since the re-branding)

We visited early August with family and friends to escape the rain in Geneva to go for some swimming and Jacuzzi fun. I phoned the Hilton health club twice, two and one day before arrival to see if we could book club entry tickets for 2 adults & 5 kids for 4 hours, I was told twice that it was no problem and we would be very welcome. The day of swimming practice, water fun and Jacuzzi time was actually quite nice. The pool is not small and facilities are clean. (Although at entry we were told we would need to have a ratio of 3 adults for 5 kids, but for the day it was OK). As rain kept going that week, I called that afternoon to arrange another session for the next day, the gentleman I spoke to told me he would note it down. The next day we came with 4 adults & 5 kids (to comply with the ratio adults / kids). That’s when the customer service disaster unfolded. Suddenly the lady at the desk, who said she was the manager), she came up with new rules all to deny us access. Entry was only for 2 hours (not for 4 hours), we could have fun but not swim or practice. If we wanted to swim the only option was to hire a private swim teacher for 70chf /30min (560chf). I offered to pay double entry fees (40chf / child and 60chf per adult) but she didn’t wanted to accept that. She was open that she wanted to make sure her friend/colleague would earn money from us. We kindly declined and went away. This is not a place to make arrangements with the staff and I won’t plan any (business) meetings here anymore

Dear Sir, We are very sorry to read your comment regarding your recent experience at our LivingWell Wellness centre and indoor pool. We checked internally with the manager to better understand the situation that occurred to you and your family. Unfortunately, it’s against our policies to welcome private swimming lessons to our indoor swimming pool. As we offer ourselves private swimming lessons, we can’t welcome any private swimming lessons. Also, we want to confirm, that our rules for any children under 16 years old are the following – as stated in all the stands placed at our pool: As part of our conditions of access to our pool, we inform you of the rule put in place concerning access to the pool for children (until 16 years old): 1 child in the water = 1 parent in the water supervising the child 2 children in the water = 2 parents present in the water We hope you will understand our policies. Kindest regards, - Sarah Nadas, LivingWell Geneva

After a long day of skiing and traveling my wife and I arrived to the Starling hotel exhausted and on a tight schedule, in need of a good night of sleep before our early flight home. We finally got up to our room and into the bed when we noticed the bed covers were extremely small. The length did not even cover our feet. The width did not even reach from one side of the bed to the other. In addition, we were concerned with the cleanliness of the bed and therefore slept fully clothed. It was not a comforting night of sleep. It certainly was not what we paid for.

We are traveling with another couple who also stayed at the Starling Hotel last night.
This morning they mentioned to us that there were bed bugs in their room. I was not the least bit surprised. Now, I am worried there may have been bed bugs in my bed as well and that there may be bed bugs attached to my clothes and in my luggage. We have 2 children at home and certainly are afraid of bringing home bed bugs.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for having chosen the Starling Geneva Hotel for your recent stay. It has been a pleasure to welcome you in our property. I regret to read that your experience did not live up to your expectations. Concerning your remarks about the duvet, I can inform you that every one of our rooms has additional comforters in the wardrobe. Moreover, we are very concerned by your allegations on the presence of insects in the room as we take this matter very seriously. The housekeeping department has been informed of the situation and has initiated the preventive quarantine process and the thorough investigation of the room. I’m happy to say that we have not identified the presence of insects in your room. Please accept my kindest regards, The Guest Relation

We booked this hotel for the second time for a family short trip to Geneva and were very happy with the choice this time too. The hotel is not centrally located if you want to go into the city, but that didn't matter since we were traveling by car. It was very easy and not too expensive to park the car in front of the entrance.
The hotel has great advantages, especially for our active children. The “family room” was basically a combination of two very spacious and perfectly equipped double rooms with a connecting door, so that we were together as a family and yet separated so there was sufficient privacy. A highlight was of course the heated indoor swimming pool with whirlpool, which we had access to at no extra charge. The morning buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The price/performance ratio was very good.
The only constructive input: Unlike last time, the room was not prepared for us as a family. The connecting door was locked and this time there were no more small welcome gifts for the children. Slippers and bathrobes in children's sizes would also be desirable.
Nevertheless, absolutely great experience for us, thank you very much!

I visited Geneva for the weekend and I couldn’t have picked a better hotel.

I am a Diamond Member and was notified beforehand that I was going to be upgraded to a Junior Suite, which is a very generous upgrade from the basic Queen Room that I had booked.

When we arrived at Geneva Airport, the hotel offers a free airport shuttle and you follow the signs for Airport Shuttle and we walked outside and there was a shuttle bus already there so we got on it and was taken to the hotel. They are every 20 mins so are very frequent. Our flight arrived around 9:30pm so it was nice not to mess about finding our way to the hotel.

Check in was very quick and straightforward. I have access to the Executive Lounge but as it was closed when we arrived, we was given two drinks vouchers that we could enjoy in the bar.

Our room was on the 7th floor and room 712, and was a great room. It had a lodge balcony with a table and chairs and sun loungers on. The bathroom was a decent size and the bath was huge. The room was very comfortable and was perfect for us.

Breakfast was included and if it wasn’t, it would cost 33 CHF, it had a good variety and there was something for everyone.

The executive lounge was quite decent and was open all day. Alcohol was available 5-7pm. There was some breakfast items available in the morning, crisps and cookies in the afternoon and some canopies in the evening, which consisted of soup, bread rolls, crisps, cheeses, salmon salad and some beef. It was very nice.

The hotel has a pool and gym. We did go swimming and we enjoyed the pool as it was very quiet and there is also a hot tub.

Switzerland on the whole is expensive. We had a meal at C’Bar and it was very nice, but it cost 36 CHF for a burger (32 GBP) which I thought was very expensive.

The staff were fabulous and very friendly.

Your stay also includes a travel card where you activate on reception and you then get free transportation in Geneva which we thought was great. You can go on buses, trains or boats for free which was a great bonus.

We wanted to go to the United Nations to see the flags and that is on buses F or 5, and it’s only 4 stops away.

All in all it’s a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely awful hotel. They turned the downstairs lobby into an extremely loud nightclub with pounding base vibrating the entire building and drunk people shouting in the lobby. I am staying with my infant son before an early morning flight and it’s too loud for any of us to sleep in the room 5 floors up. The hotel front desk refuses to do anything about the noise despite breaking the Swiss laws on quiet hours. What kind of business hotel or professional establishment allows this to happen in violation of the law?

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, guest satisfaction is at the heart of our priorities at Hilton Geneva Hotel & Conference Centre and we read every comment with attention. We are very sorry to read your feedback regarding the social event organised at our property on the 7th of July. We welcomed a private event at our CBar & Lounge with a musical animation (saxophonist) from 6 pm until 9:30 pm. We made sure that the event didn’t last longer than the hours scheduled and we were precautious to shut down the music at 9:30 pm when our guests left the event quietly. We are surprised to read your feedback regarding the behaviour of our guests, as we made sure that our guests behave correctly. Please do not hesitate to contact our front office team as they are at your disposal. Once more, we would like to thank you for choosing to stay at Hilton Geneva Hotel and Conference Centre. We hope to welcome you back soon. Kindest regards, Souad Hasnat – Front Office Manager

The hotel got stuck in the 90ies. Despite having paid 450€/ night, it was not possible to get a coffee to the room after 10. There was no coffee machine in the rooms, but Nescafé sachets with a kettle. Rooms are not to feel good in- hair dryer from centuries ago that burns your hair, just no useful equipment or anything special. Shampoo of lowest possible quality, carpet needs desperate cleaning. Not a good stay, will for sure book the ibis next door for half the price and more modern rooms next time
