The title says it all. A historic manor-turned-hotel, Iriarte Jauregia is a great place to stay en route to some other destination or just spend some relaxed days in its own right. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished and the restaurant serves a small selection of delicious local food. We would come again anytime if in the area.

When we arrived at the check in desk on thursdayevening first of december (1900h) the lady simply told us the hotel was closed because they were preparing for the weekend. We didn't reserve because in the morning we checked and there were plenty rooms available... Even after explaning our situation (hike of 30 km in the mountains) she refused us...

This is a sophisticated travellers choice. Set in the countryside with cow bells and sublime quite I loved the place. For sea swimmers the town of Mutuki is wonderful and Bilbao and the French boarder is bit far away. I visited Guernica on the way. Wonderful food and tricky to find check out Google Earth to get the idea. It...

We loved the quiet intimacy of the hotel which happens to have a superb restaurant so after travelling, please make the booking to eat dinner in the restaurant. The hotel is set in very pretty countryside close to Toloso and 20 minutes from San Sebastian and 1 hour from Bilbao as well as close enough to Biarritz to go for...

This is a very unnique hotel because of itś isolated situation in the beautiful Basque countryside. This is a place to go to contemplate the surroundings and relaxe, not a place for any kind of entertainment. The staff are all delightful and very helpful. Especially the lovely Brasilian bartender Diego. We tried the restaurant for lunch on our first day...

Having read previous reviews I can understand the mixed reactions. At first we thought the building austere & the staff rather impersonal. We also found our room dark. However, the location is lovely & the food both in the bar & restaurant excellent.

And perhaps a bit too elegant, since my boyfriend and I felt a little misplaced. We were by far the youngest guests and felt we got treated slightly differently (even if that wasn't the case on purpose, in a hotel aiming for superiority and excellence, this shouldn't happen). Example: when checking out, we haven't been asked how and if we...

This is a first rate hotel set in a lovely secluded part of the Basque Country. Family run by a friendly team this is an oasis for lovers of food and wine. Modern and stylish this traditional family building has been restored to exacting standards and is rightly popular and well worth the winding trip.
