I have spent the last 15 years doing surf trips around Indonesia, Hawaii and Europe. This is my 10th time to the Mentawais but my first to Awera. The friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and easy access to some of the best surf breaks in the world make this an experience of a life time. I can't wait to go back...

My wife and I had an amazing time with Pete and his family. Since we were staying in off season it was just the two of us at the camp. We had Pete's undivided attention and got pampered throughout the entire trip. The food (3 meals a day) is made from scratch and was delicious. Pete knows his waves and...

I recently visited Awera island Surf camp during off peak season and as a non surfer. I had a truly incredible time. As soon as I arrived it felt like home from home and the staff there treated me like family. I had the whole beach to myself, we made fires on the beach at night, went snorkeling and fishing...

This was my fourth time staying at Awera, and as always, I had an awesome trip. There is a variety of world class waves, to suit all abilities, located close by and easily accessible from the camp. And surf guide Pete, with his intimate knowledge of the local waves and weather patterns never fails to put you in the right...

Pete and the crew made us very welcome and took us to great waves everyday. Relaxed and peaceful vibe in simple idilic surrounds. Thanks to all at Awera. Magic place. Waves to cater to all standards with the focus on stoke.

This was our second trip to Awera and, like the first trip last year, everything was perfect. The location is paradise with a lot of great waves accessible within minutes, a paradise-like setup, completely secluded and yet only minutes (by boat) to the port in Tua Pejat. Ine, Pete and the rest of the team running the island are fantastic,...

Thanks again to Pete and Ine for another great trip to the Ments. Pete will have you surfing the best wave from breakfast until the sun goes down. Good waves, good food, good staff and cold Bintangs. Happy days. :)
