Great food, friendly staff. We ordered a sirloin steak meal and the fish meal. Both were superbly cooked and very full plates. We ate outside to catch the sun, and enjoyed the quietness of Kawhia. Were staying in a rented bach. We missed the meal...More

Average food, good service. Be nice to be served fully cooked eggs not half raw ones. Smokers outside open windows ensure that the room is full of their toxic second hand fumes. Language from patrons is course and foul. Friendly patrons otherwise.

You will be hard pressed to find better F&C in NZ. The John Dori fish in particular was stunning in taste. Served hot and very reasonable prices. Well worth the trip and visit. Despite the long holiday weekend the service was prompt and friendly.
