If you are travelling in the Landes and are anywhere near Amou this is the place to stay. The rooms are fairly large and the ensuite bathrooms are adequate. The restaurant is traditional , with an emphasis on local products. There is a mixture of a la carte and standard menus and the quality is always good. We keep coming...

Not a trendy place, just a small french provincial hotel with a restaurant. We weren't expecting much and the welcome was friendly, the rooms confortable and the simple daily dinner menu a real treat. We tried the home smoked salmon ( the salmon comes from l'Adour, the local river, can you believe it ?) and it was delicious, the way...

After traveling over 1000 kilometers we arrived around 9 p,m. The atmosphere was very welcoming with people sitting on the terrace and eating and we were looking forward to sit as well may be for a drink. The beginning was challenging when no one seemed to know where the key for the room was. Everyone was hectic even while the...

Good place to eat when in town either lunch or dinner . Excellent service and good attentive staff. The specials are worth a look at. Good selection of wines etc. Well frequented by locals so a good sign that the quality is good.

This is a review of the restaurant only as we did not stay in the hotel. Ate here a few times during a recent stay in the area. We were welcomed and treated with much charm, and the food was carefully prepared and presented. We did not have a meal which was less than excellent. The restaurant was popular with...

A really ideal little place. Staff were lovely (they even lent me a tie for the weeding I went to). The food was excellent and we would have eaten there more than once if we hadn't had to go the wedding. A note of caution: we took the small room on the first night as we had booked late. It...

As Amou is a very small town, there are limitations in your choice of places to stay, but you shouldn't be disappointed here. Staff are friendly and helpful, but as per a lot of places in this area of France, the ability to speak at least some French is a distinct advantage! The hotel itself is well situated and easy...

Amou is a small town in south-west of France. The Hotel du Commerce is a great place for a pleasant stay and see the surroundings. Has good rooms fully renovated bathroom, tv etc. and has, above all, a wonderful kitchen that can be seen in the dining room or, in the days of summer in its magnificent terrace. Those who...

Stayed one night whilst on a cycling holiday with friends. We arrived at 1500 to discover the hotel didn't open till 1800, but the tourist board got in touch with the owner who soon appeared to welcome us in. That's what I call good customer service. Accommodation fine though nothing special, but the meal in the restaurant was about the...
