Detailed Reviews
This hotel features around 8 to 10 lovely bungalows (1 room + restroom) in different colors.
The bungalows have a big bed, a couch, a tv (thai channels only), a closet and commode.
Everything is clean and cozy. Two bottles of water are provided for free every day.
If you're running, you reach the beach within 10 seconds. If you do so, you cross a place with some tables where you can order delicous food and drinks all day, including breakfast.
The staff is very friendly and talks only a bit of english, but sufficient for communication. The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar. The beach is public but in such a remote location that you wont see many people.
The location of the hotel itself is a bit outside of town, we recommend you to take a taxi to the hotel and then rent a motorcycle a Nok's, just beside Coral Hotel, within 5 minutes walking distance.
If you do rent a motorcycle, also take the helmets if you value your health. No, this is not a joke. Most of the time you will be fine as there are not too many people on the roads - but be prepared that some of them drive like crazy. You have left traffic - but forget what you know about driving rules as you would be the only one to care. Drive as you can and ALWAYS look around you to know where the other motorcycles / cars are. Most of the time people don't care if you set a blinker to left or right, they will still try to pass you on any possible side. If you are cautious, you should be fine but still - avoid the highway as people drive with 130 km/h and more. And even more important, NEVER EVER use the highway in the week before and after Songkhran (Thai new year). Half Thai population is driving to the south then as fast as possible. For you this would just be like holding a live hand grenade and hoping it doesn't go off.
A bungalow costs 600 Baht per night without AC but with fan or 1300 Baht per night with AC and breakfast included (breakfast costs around 80-100 Baht per person).
We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to see wonderful beaches and places in the countryside, meet friendly and smiling people and eat good and healthy food. In the evening, visit the local market in the center of Bang Saphan, you will find anything there, from food to clothes to electronic stuff and survival gear.
For eating out there are a lot of nice places in the city - but be prepared that only few people speak more english than "hello", so learn some simple Thai sentences or at least take your dictionary with you.
If you want to escape the "Tourist Traps" and see some of the simpler Thailand, go visit Bang Saphan, you won't regret it!

"We took a bungalow without AC and just a fan for 600 baht per night. We were fully satisfied with this choice as the fan was enough to make sleeping not just possible but also comfortable. The bungalows with AC which cost 1300 baht per night also include breakfast, but as mentioned before, breakfast costs around 80-100 baht per person."Read full review
