The pool is big enough and deep (1.60 m) and the beach area wide. The beach itself is clean and there are many flat-beds to relax.
The restaurant has nice seating at the beach side and a large menu with lots of seafood. The price is very good, as was the bottle of white Napa Valley wine for only 700 (very cheap in Thailand).
Breakfast is a buffet with many choices.
Value for money is very good.
The northern part of Ban Krut, where Bayview is situated is the only place where the resorts are directly situated on the beach. Being so quiet, it means you can sit and hear the swells - to some of us a therapy good as it gets.
The beach itself is also very good - though the waves hit directly on the beach so some days it can be a bit rough getting out - even for adults.
It then comes handy with a pool that is 20 metres from the sea.
Bayview seems on first eyesight to be a fairly OK place to stay. What sets it apart are;
A small playground for the children.
A childrens pool, and also a good pool when compared to competetitors.
Well-kept grounds and hammocks hanged in a lot of the casuarina trees on the beach.
And last but not least - an atmosphere of heartfelt hospitality that really sets it apart from the pack, a few examples;
When we booked it was only for a couple of days. If we were to stay for a longer period, we had to change room. As hosts, they wanted us to see the room and advised us not to take it - it was risk of being noisy as an arriving party in the building might give some noise. They phoned around, and found another resort to stay in.
When arriving late with tired children - having someone that helps you to the door and stashing luggage and not only tossing you a key, setting up a cup of tea, having put up an extra bed without being asked "we think it is better for you".
A "must-go" if you travel with kids. We have 2 (4 and 1 year old). The owners (who live partly in Denmark, partly in Thailand) have Children too. So there is everything for children. And I mean everything (walking-bikes, bikes with supporting wheels, small bikes, big bikes, hula-hups, little buldozers for the sand and bucekts, shovels... )
There is a small playground (with european safetystandard!) and of course lots of sand.
The beach is part of the property and only 1,5 m away from the spotless pool. The later has a shallow part (for the children) and a deeper end (for swimming)
the Bugalows are okay. Nothing special.
But the service is extremly friendly. The staff care about the children as if it were their own. The first time we had tears from our daughter when we left (and we left a lot of places on our trip)
Although this part of Thailand is more for the Thais, there is a few things to do. Especialy the Temple which is beautifully set at the end of the beach.
Paddle there with one of the Kajas they have for free (Sit 3 Adults!)
On Friday night the Temple is lit. A must see
The Beach is clean, but as for almost everywhere in Thailand not white sand, but yellow (normal) Sand.
If you are a couple and want peace and quit, this is where you find it. Not on weekends though. This is when richer Bangkok-Thais move in. Their party (and this goes for all parties) must stop at 00h00. No worries, you will definately be invited if you want to.
Thailand is very child-friendly, but this was the most friendly place we had so far (we still have 2 months to go)
Must-Go if you have children, but do not stay much longer then 3-4 days, because besides the temple, the pool and the beach, there is not much more going on.
From here we travelled on to Cha Am (approx 150 km north) where we stayed at the Eurasia Lagoon Resort.
The town of Bankrut is a 5 minute scooter ride away with several Western options and Thai as well.
I've been twice and enjoyed myself both times.
