Hotel's Favourite
I normally stay in the CBD and have never thought to stay this side of town. But I'm not tempted to only stay over here. I loved this hotel. Everything about it was fantastic. Check in and out was easy. The room was clean, large, comfortable. Amazing water views. TV channel selection was brilliant. Comfortable bed - unusually so for a hotel, comfortable pillows. Room service food was good, bar food and drinks were good and really nice atmosphere. Improvements - took forever to get a cab to the airport, not the hotels fault; some of the customers at the bar were rude and I felt sorry for the staff (and other patrons); room service -ordered a burger and fries, they didn't explain the burger came with fries (not mentioned on the menu) so gave me both serves, but a hefty charge. I will definitely be back.

A peaceful, quiet hotel choice for a stay in Sydney's eastern suburbs. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here. Special mention to the excellent service of both Charlotte at the front desk and the ladies in the Club lounge. The breakfast was excellent. We would stay again.

Do not hesitate staying at the Intercontinental Double Bay. The hotel is stunning, the staff are so friendly and only willing to help and our room had the most incredible view of Sydney harbour. Our room was on level 5 overlooking the harbour and was the perfect size for our family of 4 with 2 young kids. The little balcony was perfect to relax with a book in the mornings before the kids woke up and take In the view. The furniture was all beyond comfortable and stylish. Room service both in the room and at the pool bar was top notch. The Bar restaurant downstairs was delicious and we enjoyed dinner and breakfast there each morning The pool on the roof and that view is just jaw dropping! The comfy cabanas and sun loungers were so lovely to sit back and relax on. Yes it’s not a full sized and deep pool but just stand on your knees and enjoy the view! The pool depth was actually perfect for kids and took away some of the normal anxiety of having kids in the pool all day Double bay was the perfect location for us. As we stayed over the January school holidays we wanted to stay outside of the city a little and avoid the holiday chaos. Access into the city was easy with a quick ferry or cab ride. This made for such an enjoyable and relaxing family trip away. We will be back for sure.

Terrible experience. 1) The hotel advertises a pool. We went up there one afternoon to relax only to find the pool not worthy of that name, a large, shallow jaccuzzi sized pool would be more accurate. The view is nice but we litterally ran off because there were a bunch of overly loud children (unattended) in the ‘pool’, shouting, splashing water around. On top of that, the ‘glass door’ to the pool area is broken making a crashing noise everytime someone passes through it. Asking staff to do something about either the children or the door seemed a lost cause. 2) we were in room 322 boasting a bay view is also an overstament, if you do your best you can catch a glimpse of the water through the trees. 3) we stayed 6 nights and obviously had clothes for that period of time. Well, we had to spread our luggage across the room as the cupboard allows only a couple of sets of clothes, utterly ridiculous small amount of space. We were here a few years ago and had a great stay. We will NOT be back if nothing substantially changes in managment and customer service.

The most comfortable bed ever with spacious room and super outlook over Sydney Harbour. Ask for a bay view room. It also has a balcony. Lovely low rise hotel with excellent amenities and service. The food in the Hotel Bar was excellent - fresh and well presented with very good wine list. Thank you Andy, Sophie, Juan and Lauren.

If you are thinking of staying at Double Bay vs Sydney , think twice. It was my big mistake to move from Sydney one to Double bay. The contrast is day and night 1. Location: If you come to Sydney as a tourist, do not stay here. The double bay ferry is temporarily suspended. Getting around is much harder. In contract Intercontinental Sydney is closer to everything. 2. Status recognition: At Intercontinental Sydney, they give me Ambassador benefits, at Intercontinental Double Bay, I have to ask for it. 3. The room: The room is dated, lamp not working, the shower door does not block the water. Compared to Intercontinental Sydney which is very good. Oh to get to your room, you need to use 2 elevators! 4: Upgrade As an Ambassador, they "upgraded" me to the room next to the construction site. That was noisy. 5: Onsite restaurant: I had lunch at both hotel. The service at Double Bay is pretty bad. They seated us for 15 mins without any contact for menu or drink at all while the service at Intercontinental Sydney is impeccable.

We booked the hotel as this is close to our daughters apartment. We have a service dog and understood the hotel to be pet friendly which it was. The room was excellent as was the service Could not fault our stay - excellent location with easy access to good restaurants and cafes. Easy area to walk around and parks close by for the dog to stretch his legs. Nice to be out of the city for a change.

We are serious world travelers and have enjoyed great hotel stays across Asia, Africa and Europe for decades. In truth – we are pampered and a bit jaded. We stayed at the Intercontinental DOUBLE BAY three different times in our 2 week visit to Australia recently. From Day 1 we felt as if we had “come home” all due to truly amazing staff. Yes - the rooms are very generous as are the bathrooms. The rooftop pool is a joy to relax at and enjoy stunning views after long days of sightseeing and touring. Additionally this property has an awesome gym attached to it called Fit Collective. There we were warmly greeted and looked after so well, daily, by our dear Helena. She is FANTASTIC! Here is what sets this property apart. The people that work here - with smiles and joy & pride! all reception staff, guest relations manager Michelle You [who took exceptional care of us ] and the awesome club lounge team with special mention to Julia and Emily [try the superb Mescal Margaritas that I became addicted too), wonderful head concierge Vanessa who is above and beyond #1 in her game. Special mention to the incredible duo FINN and CAROL who organized a 60th birthday surprise for me. Upon entering our room – we were greeted by balloons, wine and my favourite carrot cake with birthday inscriptions! THIS NEVER HAPPENS AT A REGULAR HOTEL! Thanks Finn and Carol for such a sweet and generous gesture  To all the staff - we feel like you are all our Double Bay family & we miss each and every one of you. It has been a stunning experience and we urge you to stay at this glorious property in a fantastic area – so close to the Double Bay ferry, shops, amazing restaurants and this upscale residential neighborhood. Did I mentioned the exceptional value? Worth every cent and more. HINT treat yourselves to the Club Lounge upgrade – worth every penny & such great food and drink!. Thanks for a great time!!!

A wonderful week's stay we had. Bed very comfy, bathroom large and well designed, spotless. Lovely balcony with great view. Even the mini bar fridge was silent instead of the usual noisy mini bar. Great TV and programs to watch. Staff were excellent, carol, william and aaron in particular. Helped us with all our requests. Best of all was the breakfast where i could make my own green juice with a huge extractor and every leafy vegetable, fruit, seeds i could imagine available all cut up and ready. couch beside the bed looked a little tired, could do with a replacement and parking fee a bit steep at $70AUD/day. We would love to stay there again.
