Room & linen very clean. Bed supercomfortable. Staff friendly and accommodating. They offered free upgrade to family room, hence heaps of space. Arrived 10pm. All quiet and peaceful. Suited my needs perfectly. Great value for money. Vibrant cafes and shops at the doorstep. Less than 5 mins walk to Double Bay beach/ jetty and views of the boats and waterfront. Only complaint is I couldn't get the jug to work, but plug may have partially pulled out from wall (it was high up and out of reach). 10/10 for value for money.

I use this hotel often when I travel to Sydney. It is a very good price for an excellent location. Rooms range from very tiny to very generous, so best to upgrade for space and better lighting. It is lightly staffed but they are always friendly when in attendance.

Yes it was a very small room (216), a Saturday night, but really the size of the room allowed a king sized bed and quite enough room around the bed to walk and noise was not a problem from other quests. Lovely clean towels etc, a wardrobe for jackets, shirts and long clothing didn't even use the air conditioning, coffee and tea and biscuits, soap shampoo and conditioner dispenser's. Probably the best most central hotel in Double Bay Sydney area. My wife and I had absolutely no problems and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cost was more than reasonable at $170 for the night.

First of all I booked a superior room with a courtyard view and got “upgraded” to a street view. Unfortunately said street had garbage trucks at 6am. The windows sound like they are open and the room super noisy. The toilet leaks so they had a towel wrapped around the base. If my room was superior I’d hate to see a standard room. On the plus size it seemed clean and the bed was ok. I learnt the lesson what you pay for is what you get.

Stayed at the amazing Savoy Hotel for 17 nights and it's with a light heart that I'd like to share my experience to all the travelers out there that are looking for a private oasis. How refreshing to see 'good old fashion' service alive and well. Savoy Hotel promotes a culture of inclusion and focuses on the principle of treating others how they would like to be treated themselves.Such a rare principle in today's climate and this in itself is a credit to the training skills of the Management team. Emotional intelligence plays a fundamental role in the evolution of customer service and the team at Savoy certainly shone through with this value. Rooms are great and contain everything needed, location is situated in the heart of Double Bay and every amenity is provided for. The price and rates are second to none. There is also a kitchen area with microwave, sandwich toaster, large fridge and ice machine just in case you decide to chill out and have a quiet night in. The balcony area overlooks Knox Street and be prepared to spot a Kookaburra or 2 as they sit on the balcony rail.
A special thanks to Katrina just for being herself, Suzzen and Stephen for their exceptional customer service and Soo for being so attentive and servicing my room with a smile on her face everyday.
Congratulations Savoy Hotel, with the team members you have on board, you really are something special.
Sincerely
Janine

My room room was not far from the reception desk
So really noisy with guests coming and going .
In my room the curtain was falling of the railing, the wardrobe doors needed a lot of work to open as also the bedside table draws. The toilet had not been cleaned properly or the bathroom floors . The bath was black with dirt.
Dora double bay hotel it was awful. But good location

Avoid this place if you can. Washed in stains on bedding. Uncomfortable bed and pillow. Carpet dirty. Bathroom dispensers empty. Bed one metre from door. Noise from other guests and air conditioning. This is not what I had expected from a mid price hotel in double bay. Wish I had read other trip advisor before letting my son book this room for two nights for us. We only stayed one night as I complained after the first night and heard nothing so we did not go back for the second night.

We use this hotel regularly for overnight stays when we visit Sydney. It’s good value for money in the vibrant heart of Double Bay. We can easily walk to the bars, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. Reception staff were super friendly this visit, and the room was of moderate size, clean and adequate for our overnight needs. We find this small hotel very useful and will return.

We love the location of the Savoy because it's in a quaint neighboorhood full of great shops and restaurants. We love the Savoy Hotel because of their very reasonable prices. It's a small hotel but the rooms are well appointed, the staff is great and the breakfast is nice (I think a continental breakfast is included). We stay here when we go to Sydney. it's not in the city center but close enough to a few bus lines and a train station that will take you only a few minutes to get to the CBD.

There's an easy ferry to Circular Quay a few blocks away. Also regular bus service. Use google maps for specific info. Be sure to get an Opal card.

Hi Alma, yes it is. cannot remember the room numbers but they are on level three of the hotel. There are also some rooms that face Knox Lane which runs at the rear of the hotel and they have a smaller terrace but the rooms are larger. There is a great pub across the road about 50m away and some great restaurants. I go to Sydney every couple of months for work, sometimes with my wife and sometimes on my own and found the Savoy last year after about 12 years of staying in different hotels largely in the CBD and Darling Harbour. Now I only ever stay at The Savoy and it is not down to value for money as I do not foot the bill but because the hotel is friendly and Double Bay is just so well located. Hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary. Cheers. David
