So convenient for the A1 and local towns. The staff are young, enthusiastic and hard working, with a lovely relaxed but detailed approach to customers. The food was delicious and we were only sorry that we got there a little late and only had time for the great pub grub….the full menu meals that others had ordered looked so delicious...

This truly is a hidden gem. We booked 2 nights for birthday/New Year Celebrations.... and what a night we had. Check in was easy, room spotless plenty of tea/ coffee etc. Loved the extras, bottled water the jar of sweeties, just the little extras that make it. We decided to spend New Year's Eve wining, dining, and dancing at this wonderful venue. The accommodation was welcoming and beautifully presented, welcome - very hospitable and food-excellent . We cannot recommend it too highly.

We stayed here with our dog en route to visit family in Scotland. The first winter snow was on the ground. We arrived at 4.30 to a good welcome from Harrison and son but to a cold room. Just perfect! the service was excellent the breakfast more than adequate. i had a pint with the owner too who was a great person to spend time with. Pub just outside Ripon, ideal for various places of interest. Very friendly staff, comfortable room. Very clean and well looked after. The best thing was the delicious food, locally sourced and beautifully presented. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning

While on holiday in Whitby we went to visit friends in Ripon. We booked to stay at The George and had a great stay. The rooms were really nice and the food was lovely. We stayed overnight at The George with our children. It was a fabulous visit, the accommodation, atmosphere, food, wine and service was all fantastic. We will definitely return and would recommend very highly - Thanks to everyone at The George who made our stay most enjoyable.
