Robert and Luc made you feel most welcome. Breakfast was amazing the croissants to die for. There was a microwave and fridge in my room and it was comfortable and clean. Great conversation in English as I can't speak French and help of knowing what to see. It was a great stay here but for me getting around by myself was... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was wonderfully furnished with all amenities, and the location just two blocks off Rue St Catherine is great for any traveller but especially good for gay ones. The highlight, however, was the breakfasts, which were true gourmet treats. Head and shoulders above what passes for breakfast in hotels these days - such... More

Robert, Luc and Paul ensure that everyone feels completely at home here. The house is comfortable, the rooms are nicely appointed, a delicious and substantial hot breakfast is served each day, and there is plenty of good cheer. The house dog, Gaia, is hypoallergenic and seems to know when someone wants her to come near and when someone doesn't. Outside... More

Robert and Luc are wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, my room delightful with its own bathroom. Excellent choice of breakfast, with variety to suit all tastes and palettes. No idea where to visit, Luc and Robert will offer excellent suggestions. No idea where to have dinner, go no further than Rue Saint Catherine, the choice is endless and... More

We had a fantastic time staying here. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptional. Location is within walking area of shops and restaurants in the gay neighborhood, which was safe and enjoyable. Shared a pitcher of sangria just down a few streets from the B&B. Great all- around. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again if... More

This b&b offers a home to guest: kitchen, living room, bedroom, backyard, run by two friendly hosts. The whole place is lovely and warm. The breakfast is sumptuous and hearty. Although some reviewers claim that it is located in the gayborhood, it is about 5 minutes walk, it is on a much quieter street, and most of the guests are... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
