Le Relais Lyonnais is in a somewhat transitional college neighborhood but the staff and rooms more than make for it... Great location and they make you feel like family. The complimentary continental in room breakfast was a nice touch.

This hotel for the price was great, quaint and quiet, loved the character of the location including the Tim Hortons right next door and Bistro a Jojo a couple doors down. Would be better location in warmer months when you can do more walking to your destination. The only downfall is that there is nowhere to stop and unload your luggage...

After staying in somewhat touristy Old Montreal we chose Le Relais Lyonnais in an effort to experience a real Montreal neighborhood and were not disappointed. Located on a busy street of bars, restaurants, and the neighborhood theatre we were happy that our room was located on the first floor at the back of the building, very quiet. The modern room...

What a nice quaint hotel. Pastries at your door every morning. Walking distance to a lot of places. I highly recommend this hotel. So many bars and restaurants right out the door. Lovely. With in 15 minutes is the basilica, old harbor, old Montreal, gay village. Art gallery. A great city and a true value in this hotel. I will...

Ok so the hotel itself is fine. Nice rooms etc. The location... Prob better for young people and not families. Near a university and a bit of a sleazy area. Def nice places to eat and coffee shops around but the noise was atrocious until 3am. If you want to sleep this is not the place for you. Looong walk...

This hotel is small and very personal and you feel like you might be the only ones staying. But are greeted with a smile and nothing is too much trouble from the very friendly staff. When we were leaving we needed two taxis and the staff saw us out to the cabs and made sure we got away safely. The...

If you are younger (I am 28 and my fiance is 33) this location is for you. There are universities everywhere and the nightlife is excellent all around. What's more, the service here is great! We were on the first floor and our room was cleaned promptly and breakfast was free and on time. Can't ask for much more than...

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 year old son and we absolutely loved our time here. The staff treated us like family - always asked us how our day was, if we needed anything, and were always quick to help us when needed (eg extra pillows, advice on routes to get to places, etc). The room was...

High recommend this hotel. I will definitely come back if I come to Montreal again. The location is perfect, near the biggest connection metro station at Montreal, Berri-UQAM station. Many restaurants are right beside the hotel. Although at the centre location, couldn't hear any noise from the room. The staff is also really kind, introduced us what to do and...

First off, the location is fab - a really cool area, close to old Montreal and lots of other neighbourhoods. The place is also lovely - tastefully decorated and excellent service (we were given loads of amazing insider tips). We felt at home from the moment we arrived. They also upgraded us as the hotel was not full, which was...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
