The University B&B is well located to McGill University and had a more or less friendly staff. The room (grey room on 3rd floor) is a mini suite and ample room for sure. The climb is all stairs but manageable. Breakfasts are ample with eggs, meats, yogurt, cereal etc. They have a 3 car garage and I made a reservation...

The location is great if you are dropping off your McGill student or visiting. The street is very quiet yet walking distance to many busy streets with shopping and dining options. The suite we were in (beige) is spacious for 2 people. Excellent wifi. Friendly staff and very good coffee at breakfast.

We stayed at the University B&B for the final 2 nights of a bike tour from Toronto to Montreal. We arrived in the pouring rain dripping wet and creating puddles on the floor - not a problem at all - we were shown quickly to our room " the brick suite" and able to wheel our bikes straight into the...

Stayed in the brick suite for the last 4 nights. Whilst technically the room was clean and as described (photos a little to generous to reality) you need to be aware of a few issues. Firstly, the bedstead comes complete with an additional wooden base to boost the bed height and is topped with the softest mattress we have ever...

Hi Lea, Thank you for your honesty and for taking time to review our B&B. I want to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. This is a very well run B&B with an excellent central location in Montreal. We were glad we chose the greystone suite. It was very well appointed and had an updated bathroom with an incredible shower. It was also great having a stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The living room sofa pulled out into a bed for extra sleeping space. The...

Stayed in August 2015. Room was lovely, and fantastic and relaxing to get back to you after a big day exploring the sights of Montreal. It is in a fairly quiet street so no problem with noise or neighbours and very convenient to City and metro station. The staff were brilliant and very friendly. I loved every minute of my...

I was in Montreal to attend the Canadian F1 Grand Prix race weekend. I decided to stay in a quite neighbourhood with easy walking to downtown Montreal and the Metro. I'm so glad I did. After a day / evening of crazed F1 activity is was so nice to retreat back to the peacefulness of the B&B. The staff were...

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. A wonderful, friendly, welcoming experience. The rooms are spread over 3 floors in 2 adjacent, very old buildings with no lift. The creaking floorboards mean you do need to consider the other guests, especially late at night. We stayed in the red suite on the 3rd floor with its own functional,...

We actually loved the place and the people were friendly Especially Rose. Very comfortable and good location. A few minor things bothered us, which is really a pity. The toilet constantly leaked water into the pan - i just turned it off at night to keep it quiet. We were informed that the towels would be changed after three days....

Hi Paul, Thank you so much for your honesty and for taking time to review our B&B. I want to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced, and ESPECIALLY for not receiving an email back from us concerning the mini-bar; this is NOT our policy and we always try to communicate with guests and apologize when we have made an error....

Thank you so much for your review. Feedback from our guests is immensely important to us. We do our best to keep our rooms pristine, cozy, and welcoming, and it is so lovely to hear that our efforts helped to make you feel at home during your stay. The breakfast staff works hard to ensure that or daily breakfasts are...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
