We just recently spent 8 lovely nights in the Héritage Victorien B&B in the so called Latin Quarter of Montréal. We almost thought we had been transported back to the middle of the 19th century - in a good way - as all the conveniences of the 21st century are still up and running in this supremely well run inn....

We spent 4 nights with Denis and his very pleasant staff. The cool factor of this Victorian home is way up there. Breakfasts were lovely with gorgeous fresh fruit and artisan breads and omelettes. We found the location perfect for walking to so many neighbourhoods. There is also a Bixi station directly across the street or there are 2 Metro...

Do not let the outside of the place fool you. Heritage Victorian is one of the most amazing places to stay ever. The pictures on the site do not do it justice in the slightest. The rooms are...cavernous is the only way to explain it. The sheer beauty of the establishment is breathtaking. The proproetor, Denis and his right hand...

What a delightful surprise! You would not guess that in the heart of the Latin quarter there is a row house that doesnt look like much feom the outside, but step inside and you will at once feel like royalty! The owners are warm hearted and friendly. Inside there is interesting journals of a young girl who lived there with...

Thank you for this wonderful review. I am happy to see that you enjoyed the historic aspect of the house. I am currently working on Louise Amelia Monk journals and in a couple of weeks, there will be much more to read. Thank you again for saying such nice things about my place.

We just stayed at the magnificent Heritage Victorian for three nights and loved it! Denis is so charming and helpful - after serving us a gourmet breakfast, he chatted with us to plan our days - and was so very helpful with suggestions! Michel was also so helpful and cheerful! This location allowed us to park our car for our...

We just spent two nights in Montreal at the Victorian Heritage Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I were both extremely impressed with our host Denis's meticulous restoration of the Victorian home of Judge Monk. Our room was beautiful, quiet and spacious. As if that were not enough, we enjoyed Denis's warm hospitality, great breakfasts and engaging conversation about the...

From the moment we entered Denis beautiful Victorian B&B we were delighted. It was very easy to find, he accommodated us with parking in the back, came to help us carry our bags in to the inn and answered any question we had. The rooms are all beautiful, not one seems bad. Each room has either a claw foot tub...

For two Australians this was our first time in Montreal, we stayed at the beautifully restored Victorian Heritage for three nights. We hit the jackpot with the location within walking distance of the main city area but centrally located to many good restaurants. As soon as Denis welcomed us inside with hsi laconic humor, we felt assured that we were...

Often when my wife and I go away the debate is always about hotel vs.B&B. Now I don't think its fair to lump all B&B's together but I must say, when i come back to Montreal. I will never stay anywhere other then here. Bye Sheraton, Bye Hilton and Bye Westin you are all great places, but this is in...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
