This B&B is such a wonderful place, an appealing destination all on its own. The building which dates from the 1870s has been loving restored in impeccable taste complemented by magical art and a few whimsical figurines. The effect is to create a harmonious, relaxing...More
I must admit, when we drove up to Denis & Michel's B&B, I had my "reservations" (literally and figuratively). But once inside, my fears were quickly allayed - it's fantastic! The care with which they have lovingly restored their home is immediately apparent - it's...More
What a treasure. Unassuming from the outside, but walk in past the front door an experience a 20yr restoration labor of love of a Victorian masterpiece. All the furniture is museum quality. Check out the pics on their website. And the Breakfast!!! Micheal and Denis...More
Although we've never slept in a museum, I feel as if we did here while visiting Montreal. The owners are rightfully proud of their historic home that they have restored magnificently into this very comfortable B&B. We were there in an unusual heat wave, and...More
It was a great experience staying at this hotel. We had the double Amelia room, which was spacious and combined new (recently renovated) with old (antique furniture) elements. The extra touch was the bathtub next to the bed, in the middle of the room! The...More

Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and
exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.

We walked everywhere! We paid extra to park our car in back of the house which is worth it, and did not use our car at all. Good restaurants are one block over on St. Denis. It took about 30 minutes at most to walk to Mount Royal, which we did in the morning, then went to the Beaux Arts Museum to see the Pompeii exhibit before going to dinner. It was only a 20 minute walk to Old Montreal and the Cathedrals which are stunning and worth the fee - check times for tours. We did not go to the Botanical Garden nor Zoo which would require a car.
Denis is very helpful it giving walking directions to see sites, too.
I hope this helps - my husband and I love to tour by walking and loved our visit to Montreal!
