We stayed 2 nights in a room with a shared bathroom. It was our first time staying in a place with a shared bathroom so we were somewhat apprehensive. It turned out, we had no reason to be. Our room was right next door to the bathroom and we never had to wait to use it. The B&B is managed...

This is my eighth visit to this B&B and it remains my "go to" place when I visit Montreal. I choose the dates for my trips to Montreal around the availability of this particular place. The last four visits here I have stayed in "the cottage"-- a two story private house adjacent to the B&B and operated by the owners....

My husband and I had a great time staying with wonderful hosts Nicholas and Philippe at BBV. They welcomed us warmly, gave us excellent ideas for what to see and do in Montreal, and provided great recommendations for restaurants in their neighborhood. Their breakfasts were amazing. I still can't stop thinking about that home made bread pudding and all of...

We had a wonderful stay at BBV! We were warmly welcomed and oriented to Montreal by our generous host. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the guest house well laid out. The breakfast was awesome and we used the Bixi Bike system to get around the City! We definitely look forward to returning to Du Village BBV!

My husband, son and I traveled to Montreal for a University tour. We had a wonderful visit at the BBV - with hosts Phillipe and Nicholas. For Breakfast, we met Canadians, Americans, Scottish, Australians, and Norwegians. It was a wonderful mix of family, friends, couples and singles. One traveler was on his 7th stay, as he travels for work. The...

B&B du Village was a perfect place to stay. Very clean. Sleek decor. Sweet owners. Excellent breakfast. Secure parking and WiFi both a plus. Perfect location. Metro stop one block away or short walk into Old Montreal. Delicious restaurants in walking distance.

We loved our 3-night stay in January. The room was really comfortable, the location is great, we didn't have a room with ensuite but that didn't matter at all as our bedroom was right next to the bathroom and we didn't have to share with anyone. The breakfast was wonderful - croissants, egg muffins, fruit (so fresh I was sure...

I stayed in this B&B after my sister passed away while I managed all the formalities. Philippe and Nicolas were kind, and went out of their way to make our stay as good as can be under the circumstances. This place is what I qualify as simply beautiful with few frills but pure comfort! The beds and linen are top...

We stayed at BBV for 8 nights, and we could not have been happier. We were made to feel extremely welcome, and everything was perfect. Our accommodations were comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay in Montreal. We found we could walk downtown and to many other places, and the subway was only a short block away. We also rented...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
