We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn -- Montreal Westmount in November and had a very positive experience. The location is excellent, but parking is severely limited. You have your choice of parking a couple blocks away in either a parking lot or indoor garage (they are in opposite directions from the hotel) and walking back. The staff is decent,...

We stayed here for a few days while in Montreal and loved it. I had planned to use the kitchenette to make breakfast, but when I discovered the free morning buffet, it was no longer necessary. The rooms are small but the bed was extremely comfortable with awesome down pillows changed daily. Little touches like that are huge for me....

The good: - Good WiFi & Wired internet access - Very quiet stay - Location is very convenient - minutes to the Atwater Metro station and the Bell Centre - Spacious breakfast area and multiple choices for all palates and diets...

A 4 day trip up to Montreal en route to Mont Tremblant for New Year's Eve proved to be a comfy one thanks to this Residence Inn. Located close to shops & food on St Catherine Street as well as easy access to freeways, our group had a great time. Wanted to save money by bringing up food and doing...

The literature in the hotel said they were celebrating their 10th anniversary. I assume the property was something else before because it looks dated through out. The lobby area and hallways of the floor looked like they have had a facelift, but the rooms were definitely old. It was easy to tell by the appliances in the kitchen in my...

Booked 3 nights on points, have no complaints. A bit off the beaten path but that means a much quieter location. Our room was clean, the kitchen was equipped with anything one might need though we never ate in, it is nice to have a fridge for drinks, etc.. Didn't get to the pool but judging by soggy kids in...

This hotel meets Marriott standards. As it is a residence inn there are complete kitchen facilities available which gives the impression of a small apartment rather than an hotel suite. If you pick up food you can cook it and store it which is great if you want to eat in. Having said that a really nice breakfast buffet is...

This seems to be favoured by workers who need long-stay accommodation and want to cook / eat in their room. It is not far from an area with cafes and restaurants, but none are visible from the front door. It has a canteen-like self-help restaurant providing decent breakfasts and functional other meals.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
