Have stayed here twice. Will stay again. Location is A plus. A block or 2 from the main street. Beautiful architecture all around. Clean modern rooms. Surprisingly big. I have status at the hotel but they upgraded my friends other 2 rooms as well. Very much appreciated. Helpful friendly staff. Great value for the area. Love this hotel and will...

If you plan to stay here, the internet connection is horrible. 0.16MBPS internet connection is just unacceptable. I was working from the hotel and ended up just working from the lobby since the connection at the lobby was about 2MBPS.

Clean and comfortable, crisp white sheets, lovely modern Euro-style room. Would prefer zippered duvet cover instead of sheets with duvet and a fresher shower curtain. Otherwise great. Valet parking very convenient and reasonably priced (27$). Great location - walked to Bell Centre (turn right out of main hotel entrance and walk 600m, turn right onto Drummond and walk 400m directly...

We had a long flight from Saint Lucia to Vancouver and stayed a night in Montreal to break it up. Given the difference in climates and our desire to travel using only carry-on we shipped a box of winter clothes to the hotel. When we arrived the staff was wonderful about delivering the box to our room. They also arranged...

I stayed for a night in January. Modern hotel, location is about a block away from St Catherine, but away from the main action. Not a huge hotel, but very clean and nice staff. Did not have a chance to eat here but heard the food is good (the menu looked good). I upgraded to a junior suite after I...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights for business. The hotel is a "boutique" hotel and my stay was quite pleasant. Very friendly staff who were receptive to any minimal concerns I had. There is a nice bar/coffee shop/restaurant in the hotel. The only negatives were a small gym and the hotel was not convenient to downtown. Overall, nice...

Our stay here was very last minute, but we enjoyed it. We booked through priceline and didn't realize that it was only for one bed. I forgot her name, but the lovely woman who checked us in upgraded us to a double room, she didnt have to but it was so nice of her to do so. The room we...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.

Toronto, Canada

Various details of design/ fittings/ finishes/ accessories attracted us as being neat/ different BUT... drawbacks we hit:

- In our room (a junior suite), be prepared to get down on your knees to operate the room safe as it is conveniently (not) located about 6" above ground level. For some, no problem, but at our age and with our arthritics, a major problem. So we just didn't use it.

-The elevator buttons have a circle of light round them when pushed. But there is no light to make it easy to see on the panel WHICH FLOOR you want. Why on earth put a dark number embossed on a similar dark background? Absolut nuts. We saw other people having the same problem, needing to peer at the panel from a few inches away!

-First hotel we've used in 40 years where there was no walk-in shower - you had to enter the tub to use it. For us, a major concern there was no grab handle to help getting on or if we should slip.

- Service charming but slapdash. Imagine ordering croissants and jam, and getting croissants with mayo and ketchup! And the ONLY place in decades when you ask for a cup of coffee it literally comes in a cup covered with plastic wrap. Which fails to keep it hot on the trip from the kitchen to the guest room. Why on earth not have small pots/vacuum flasks like everyone else?

-Service again. Charming but ... at the desk we asked for our check while we waited for the taxi to come. Guy says sure and goes to computer but is immediately diverted by another guest wanting some tourist information. Why didn't he complete our check first? 5 minutes later taxi comes, no check. We say we're leaving, he says he will email the check. One week later we call and say where's the check? They say sorry, don't know why it wasn't sent, maybe we mislaid your email address. Gimme a break!

- As weekend tourists, a huge disappointment that, after returning from dinner out on saturday night, we could not go to the hotel bar because it and the restaurant were closed for a private function.

- there were other things but I can't recall them now.
