Detailed Reviews
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Sonder Apollon this past weekend for a much-needed getaway, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Having traveled extensively, I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so impressive that I felt compelled to share.
First and foremost, the value is remarkable. The room was stunning—beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and designed for relaxation. The in-person experience was identical, if not better, than the photos on the website—a rare occurrence in our travels. The rain shower was excellent, and the thoughtful touches throughout the space elevated our stay: Davines bath products, Tide Pods for the washer, earplugs, an intuitive streaming TV setup, and a seamless app for managing our stay.
The property itself was equally impressive. The keyless entry system was modern and user-friendly, the gym was spotless with top-notch equipment, and the steam room and sauna were refreshingly hot—perfect after a day of exploring. The location in Old Montreal couldn't be better, placing us steps away from some of the city's best dining, attractions, and charm.
If I had one minor suggestion, it would be regarding the room's climate control system. It seemed to operate either entirely on or off, and the bedroom got a little stuffy when it was on. We managed easily by turning it off and cracking the window, and I imagine it would be quite cozy in the colder months.
The quiet atmosphere, large window, and additional perks like coffee and tea in the room made this stay a true delight. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Sonder Apollon to anyone—including my 70-year-old parents, which speaks volumes about its versatility, appeal, and quality.
This was our first experience with Sonder, and it has made us enthusiastic about staying at their other properties in the future. This place is a real gem for its price, vibe, and service. The fact that the in-person experience matched or surpassed the website photos was a delightful surprise and a testament to the exceptional quality of Sonder Apollon.

My wife and young child found this to be a perfect stay for our first visit to Montreal. Early check-in for nominal fee was appreciated and gaining entry was a breeze. The apartment fit our needs well. The living room provided sufficient space to relax with an equipped kitchen area. And while the bedrooms were small, the bedding was comfortable. The closet space was ample.
I was also pleased with the staff on hand in the reception area. We had a chirping smoke detector in need of new batteries and a staff member arrived within minutes to fix the problem. The front desk also provided advice about the area.
Speaking of the area, Sonder is near the heart of Old Montreal – perfect for newcomers. There are several cafes, family-friendly restaurants, and pubs nearby. I particularly recommend going around the corner to Micro Espresso for a maple latte and croissant to start your day.
You can walk to the nearest Metro station in 15 minutes and the rail station is a quick Uber away. We weren’t disturbed by noise inside the building but, if we were, a white noise machine and ear plugs were on hand. Be sure to check out the view from the rooftop deck.

This was my first stay at a Sonder property, and I really enjoyed it. I originally booked Sonder Apollon for its central location in Old Montreal, and my friend and I loved that we could easily walk to all of the cafés and restaurants in the area as well as to many attractions such as Notre-Dame Basilica and Pointe-à -Callière Museum. The apartment itself was very impressive: two bedrooms with comfortable double beds, a shared bathroom with a rainfall shower, a small kitchen with a microwave and a dishwasher, a living area with a dining table and a couch, and even a laundry closet with a washer and a dryer! I did find some dirt on my sheet when we first checked in, but the staff at the front desk brought me a replacement immediately. I would definitely recommend Sonder Apollon for anyone looking for more space and amenities than a typical hotel room.

We had a wonderful experience with Sonder! The room was fully equipped with high-quality equipment: dishwasher, washing machine and drier, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, eletric kettle, toaster and they even made a white noise machine available! Also a top-notch iron with an ironing board.
Bed is very comfortable and Roku TV (where you can login with your own Netflix, Viki, Prime video etc) works very well!
This is mostly a "do-it-yourself" kind of property (there is a cabinet of essentials on the third floor), but the staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed them.
Located in a very nice neighborhood, in Old Montreal near the old port and the Basilica; there are several restaurants nearby but we sometimes felt we needed a supermarket of sorts - we ended up buying most of our food supplies from a nearby small market
("Le Beau Marché"), that has somewhat expensive but high-quality products in general, as well as a very friendly staff.

The most beautiful, clean, and convenient place ever! Modern minimalist interior, high tech check in and out system without cards (just a keypad). As soon as i entered the room the first time, they immediately detected and texted me to welcome us. Highly recommend, will stay here every time im in Montreal!

I had a wonderful stay! The building and apartment was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. I loved how much space we had and how modern all of the utilities were. The neighborhood is a great place to stay as a tourist with so much within walking distance. I used the sonder app for recommendations for restaurants and groceries in the area which was very helpful! I came with a car and was able to part with ease at a lot just across from sonder. The only thing that would have made my stay better was if the amenities were better maintained. The steam room, sauna and gym were all very clean and functional, but they ran out of towels every day and other guests did not always clean up after themselves so there were dirty towels laying around and weights not put away in the gym. The amenities probably need some more oversight from management.

Super impressed by the location of building, cleanliness of room and building architecture outside and how well stocked/prepared the apartment came. First time using Sonder and will now look for it in other cities, would highly recommend. We booked one of the 2 bedroom apartments for 3 people to split and it was great. Surprised unit had laundry machines inside & kitchen + bathroom came with essentials. Lots nearby and walkable to things. All other guests we bumped into in main lobby area were also respectful.
P.S. if you’re sensitive to sound in mornings, would recommend not booking on main floor or using the earplugs from the rooms, they provide everything you can think of.

The two bedroom unit suit the needs of our family (two adults, one toddler) very well! The unit was very clean and well furnished (though it was tough to move around the foot of the bed in both rooms). The location was ideal - walking distance to so many great restaurants and attractions in Old Montreal, like the Museum of Archaeology and History. The room had everything we needed when we got takeout (we never cooked, but it looked well equipped for that too). The sheets, duvets, and towels all could have been softer, which was a little disappointing. The A/C would only stay on for 20 minutes or so at a time - this was especially a challenge at night, when both rooms would get uncomfortably warm until someone would get up and turn the A/C on again. But all in all, the good far outweighed the bad, and we would stay here again!

We stayed for one week in the Sonder Apollon. The booking experience en chat contact was very smooth. Very friendly and thoughtful staff. The Apollon is situated perfectly in Old Montreal on walking distance of all the restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is a beautiful building renovated to modern standards. Our room was spacious, very clean and well equipped. It was very quiet and we did not have any issues with hotel or street noise. If you need more towels, toilet paper, shower gel etc you can easily get it: there is a closet on one of the floors with supplements. On the top of the building there is a small gym, a sauna (which we used every day), a steam room and an outside terrace. In the basement the hotel has plenty lockers, large and small ones, to store your luggage and or bags on the checkout day if needed. Most convenient. This was our first experience with Sonder and after this week it will definitely not be our last. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend this hotel - it gets everything right from both hotels and airbnbs. It's in Old Montreal, with easy parking very close (we could see the car from our kitchen window) and metro entrance within walking distance. The Sonder app recommended tons of great cafes/restaurants/groceries nearby. The unit we rented, a 'spacious two-bedroom apartment' had tons of space for our toddler to roam, and had a bathtub, and felt much safer than a random person's home on airbnb. The kitchen was so handy. The units seemed well soundproofed too. All toiletries included except body lotion. It was really easy to get in touch with the concierge. There's a rear entrance for stroller/wheelchair. Each rooms were stocked with earplugs and sound machines which was a nice touch but I didn't find there to be excessive noise from outside during our weekday stay. The rooftop and building amenities were gorgeous.
