I stayed four nights at the Sofitel and would highly recommend it to anyone going to Montreal. Great service and location. Close to everything Montreal has to offer. The staff is fantastic and works hard to cater to your every need. The only downside was the parking, which wasn't that big of a deal.

Stayed just one night. Great hotel and excellent location. Allocated small room with no bath on arrival, paid 50 dollars to upgrade to room twice the size on 15th floor. Huge lux bathroom and fabulous view. Room service dinner good but pricey 175 dollars including half bottle wine (2 course). Reception incredibly helpful and courteous - the best of 3...

Just left a 3 night stay at this excellent downtown hotel (first visit and this time traveling with family including an 8 and 10 year old) and I have experienced many of the various hotels in the area on business (Ritz, Lowes, Crystal, QE, Sheraton, etc.). Very impressed with Sofitel and would highly recommend. Rooms were high calibre, modern and...

We were greeted and assisted with luggage the moment we were at the entrance. The front desk associate (Emilye) was very friendly and helpful and walked us to the elevator after check-in. The manager was also throughout the hotel on several occasions and very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The washroom was large; amazing quality and immaculately...

My husband and I took a 2 days vacation in Montreal and it was our first time at the Sofitel. Everyone was nice and we were very happy to stay in this beautiful hotel! And we want to go back again. Staff are friendly, polite and always with a smile! Thank you for the great service!

I arrived at the hotel and was told they have no parking or valet service for the next 2 months. That is fine they have an agreement with a lot about 80 meters away by foot. The issue is: in order to get to the lot you need to go around the block and cut through an alley. Not a...

This hotel is a little pricier than we usually spring for, but we got a good price on hotwire, and were very happy with our stay. We had a lovely corner room...a little weird looking into other hi-rises nearby, but you could see the park too if you tried. The bed was incredibly comfortable and had amazing pillows. The overall...

My wife and I took a vacation road trip that included Montreal and chose the Sofitel as our hotel there. Everyone we meet there treated us like royalty. We were assigned room # 1507 which was a corner room and gave us a view of downtown from one window and a view of Mont Royal from the other one. The...

As comfortable as can be, with excellent service from everyone we encountered. We received great recommendations from the people at the front desk, and a minor problem with the TV was dealt with immediately. Very highly recommended.

I have been staying at the Sofitel on and off since October on business. Some trips have been longer than others, the longest being a 14 night stay. I cannot praise the team in this hotel high enough. From the front desk to the F&B team and the Renoir and the bar, they are all just excellent. Their customer focus...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
