We stayed at Hotel de Paris for 7 nights, 5 of which they charged more than double the price for a sub standard room, just because it was over the Formula One race weekend.! The room was small, had no fridge, no Microwave or any other extras for such a high price & to top it off when we went...

We stayed here two nights! We booked on expeda. It was not cheep and we were in a very very small cozy room. Hubby was not happy I was ok as I knew it was only two days. There is no room to move around and large suit cases are a problem no were to put them. That is why...

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit family. We really liked the location of the hotel and the price was great. We stayed in the Annex building across the street from the main hotel. Our room, with 2 queen beds was on the 2nd floor, a little worn, but clean and comfortable. The room itself is spacious with a...

The location was great and the room was good for the price! So close to the metro and with so many event going on in Montreal in June, it was perfect to walk from. We stayed in the annex and it was decent for the price. Definitely an older building but it did its job! A great place to stay...

This hotel was in a great spot! We could easily walk to the main parts of Montreal that we wanted to visit, like St. Catherine's street, the cathedral and the park that over looks all the city. The best part that, while the hotel was very basic, it was affordable and central! Don't expect five star accommodations, you get what...

We booked the larger room in the annex with 2 queen beds and it was great. spacious, bright, and clean. what else could we ask for? The AC was efficient and the shower was great. Breakfast across the street in the main hotel was also good - lots of fruit, pancakes, and other good stuff. And the restaurant transforms into...

Their excuse for everything is: you booked through a third party. We had reserved a SUPERIOR QUEEN (through a third party). Upon arrival the building is old but nice from the outside: problem is, they have an annex across the street that looks like a shack. Our superior queen consisted of the bed. And nothing else. When we went to...

Welcoming budget hotel on a main thoroughfare between the Plateau (north) and Village (south). The property is spread across two buildings on opposite sides of Sherbrooke, both older houses. As such, there is no elevator, and some rooms numbered in the forties are more than sixty steps from street level, including the exterior steps to the reception. Not an appropriate...

I had booked this hotel on avios points. Check in was easy and fast and they gave me a newer room in the annex hotel across the road. There are no elevators so had to climb up 3 floors of narrow stairs, lugging my suitcase. The room is comfortable enough with 2 very comfy queen beds, and a desk and...

The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. The room was very small, but I was in Montreal to see the city not stay in my hotel. The location is perfect to walk to most places in Montreal and the prices are unreal. It was great!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
