Nearly drove by it - the street profile is pretty small. Valet parking doesn't appear to be an option. The affiliated parking garage is fairly close by, but we had to go around the block again to get to it. We only stayed one night (New years eve) and found it through a hotwire deal. We mainly wanted a nice... More

Thanks for your input and for staying with us. We are a small, boutique hotel with 23 rooms and no "on-premise"parking garage. As a result, we are unable to valet cars. Since the hotel's recommended parking garage (merely 1 minute away) is not under our control, we do not have dedicated staff to this aspect of the Chez Swaan experience.... More

This hotel is not necessarily easy to find, since the entrance is small, and not a big sign to announce it. Once you do (its just before de Maissoneuve) the reception area is not that of a big chain hotel. A natural wood desk with a laptop. That's pretty much all. We arrived much too early, and the room wasn't... More

We are overjoyed to hear that you would like us to be your regular hotel when visiting Montreal. Thank you for the kind words and lovely review. We're glad you enjoyed the continental breakfast at Le Pois Penche. Be sure to drop in there for dinner or a night cap the next time you're staying with us. The Champagne list... More

My family and I stayed here for a night, it is a tiny hotel with a bit of modern art design. It is located in the heart of downtown, a minute away from St. Catherine. There is no parking for the hotel, we were lucky to find a spot on side street, which is free for the night stay. If... More

My girlfriend and I recently stayed in room 305 at this hotel. The hotel is quite small however the room was spacious and had a more comfortable condo style feel. We fell in love with the bathroom the full glass shower with the peekaboo glass looking into the room. The pictures do not do justice the hotel is not as... More

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend and we both loved our room! We stayed in room 203 and it was very nicely decorated. The receptionist was exceptional and it was very quick to check in. The hotel is in a perfect area for if you are ready for a night out on the town, just going out... More

Great location, good service and nice room. first night was noisy but that was because our room was over the main entrance and there may have been a party in the meeting room right below us. Overall it was a small boutique hotel and very quaint. Free continental breakfast was nice!

First of all I would have to say that the location is perfect for a downtown Montreal stay. When we got there we noticed that there is absolutely no parking there... so we ran into the hotel and checked in and were told that there was a parking garage just down the street from the hotel. So we proceeded to... More

Booked this hotel without knowing it was a "boutique" hotel. I booked through Hotwire. I usually never book a boutique style hotel, as I need big chain amenities. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall stay. I had arrived at around 9PM, and there was 2 people at the check-in desk. One was being trained. It took a bit longer... More

Booked off Hotwire, was initially apprehensive but had a great stay. Stayed for one night while in Montreal on our way to Quebec City. Great service by the front desk staff, accommodated all of our requests and even upgraded our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is five stars, the only downside was the parking,... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
