We stayed 2 nights in a large and well decorated room on the 6 th floor, the staff was very friendly and helpful to guide us to some interesting dinning spots. I also appreciated the espresso served at the desk all day and night. The downtown location is excellent as the airport shuttle bus has a stop on the corner...

We stayed for four days in May for a wedding in Montreal. Our room was clean and very nice. We got to see a little more of the hotel as the groom had a suite which included a huge party room which came in handy for the festivities. Hotel Espresso is nicely located close to everything in Montreal and I...

Skip this place unless your are desperate. Service was bad. Stains on the bed sheets. Loud staff. Really not a pleasant place. I was told it was in the financial district, it certainly did not have a "business" feel. Perhaps that was because of the cheap looking laminate on the room floors. This was my first and last visit to...

I read your review and would extend an invitation to you to contact me so that I may better understand what went wrong with the stay and see if there is anything I can do to reedeem this situation. I understand that when you book with Hotwire you are not exactly chossing the hotel you stay at, But if you...

First review I have ever written... They will not allow at least 30 people to check in because it is not yet 3pm, (all the rooms are ready and its 2:20pm). They are insisting on collecting $50 for early check in. So I am waiting in the lobby with 30 other people sitting here until 3pm... Pretty stupid! I am...

I knew we weren't gonna stay in a 5 star luxury hotel but had no clue it was gonna be SO DISGUSTING!!!! Dirty to the point where I couldn't touch anything in the room without a tissue. Bed and pillows felt like sleeping on a hard floor. Smell in a hallway reminded me of a nursing home or a hospital....

I liked the location of this hotel, since it's downtown there's great night life and a variety of different stores on st catherine street. The outdoor pool is also nice. I can't comment on the food because we didn't eat in their restaurant, however, I can say that the customer service is subpar. We arrived an hour before check-in and...

Pulling up to the hotel, there were a bunch of low lives hanging out in front of the hotel which made us feel unsafe. The door to our room took superhuman strength to shut properly which made me worry half the time that it was not locked. The biggest problem is that the staff don't care for your safety or...

I went to Montreal for a short period, then I stayed there for just one night. I wouldn't stay there much time. This hotel is a pass hotel. I didn't like the bedroom, breakfast and there were some people fighting and screaming in the corredor. We ask the porter to solve the problem, calling the police, but nothing happened. Last,...

Stayed at this Hotel for Montreal Jazz festival. The hotel itself was ok. The rooms were clean. Though there website states that all rooms have a computer mine did not have one (I had my laptop so it was not a big deal). My room also did not have a microwave as my friend's room had. The hotel looks quite...

This hotel can be very noisy if you get the wrong room. We got an outdated room with the best freakin mattress ever! It was a corner unit away from the hallway. It really worked for us. Look past the all the stuff around you and just check in and get inside your room.Once inside you need to get the...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
