From the moment I've arrived, I had one of the best, relaxing experience. The check in, front desk had given me the most pleasing greeting. Once I checked in my room, I was taken away but the warmth, cozy and not to mention beautiful view of downtown Montreal, Rene Levesque. We were located in the middle of the hotel so...

The Queen Elizabeth hotel is a gem. The service is excellent, the rooms are modern and the food is wonderful! If you're staying in Montreal stay in the Queenie. I visit there a few times a year instead of taking a cruise --- it's that good.

The hotel is past its prime. Dated decor and in need of a significant modernization. Avoid. Bathrooms are tiny and showers 3rd world standard. Not up to the Fairmont standards. Staff were not very friendly or helpful (a bit too French).

Overall staff and location was good, no issues with the service or check-in. Room was somewhat dated with peeling wallpaper and a smaller size, but acceptable given the age of the building. Ammenities good and great bed. Downside was the fact they charged my a (albeit small) fee for storing my bags for 2 hours after checkout, as flight was...

My husband and I stayed two nights at The Queen Elizabeth. It was not a good experience. Our room was across the hall from Room 666 and the guests were everything you would expect of guests staying in a room with this number. They were very noisy prior to our going out for dinner. We spoke to the front desk...

This is my 3rd stay at the QE Fairmont over many years and nothing has changed. Nothing ever changes here. In my club room, the bathroom looks like the original install and while kept clean - it is not functional as there is no place to lay out your shaving kit etc. Toilet barely flushes and shower lever wobbles, taps...

Don't let looks deceive you. The outside looks like an office building but the interior is beautifully appointed and classy. From the high ceilings in the large lobby filled with comfy chairs to the restaurant and ambiance, you'll find little reason not to be proud to have brought along your partner or business associates. The hotel is close to shopping...

Nice location, but rooms need updating on some floors. Bar used to have nibbles with your drink, but have really cut back. Go for the buffet at breakfast as menu items seem to pull from the buffet anyway

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
