We have stayed at this property a couple of times and have never been dissapointed. It is the perfect location if you are attending events at the Bell Centre. It is an older building with lots of charm and the service is outstanding. We had the most beautiful view in winter overlooking the park, it was a really lovely. The...

What I liked most were the views from the room - I was facing the mountain side and the view of the city was absolutely beautiful! For me, hearing the city bell gongs was another feature I really liked. Rooms are average sized, but clean, well maintained. The location of the property is a huge plus, very close to the...

Nice hotel, I suppose it was a amazing back in 1967 when built. Today it looks tired altough it still posseses some extraordinary charm. Rooms are big and well kept. Bathrooms have to be improved fast, bath looks like in two stars hotel. Do not pay the visit to the pool- it is horor!! Although gym is good. Staff is...

I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel and the location. The manager was out in the morning greeting everyone, the concierge desk was SO helpful and always crowded. The rooms were VERY quiet and clean. The waitstaff in the restaurant were so nice! We can't wait to go back!

Marriott has a great name and it is my first choice because of it's price points and quality.however, not in this case. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired.the beautiful brass entrance hasn't been polished in years, in our 10 or so entrances to the hotel, the 2 folks who were to open the door for guests totally ignored us.They just don't care. The...

Easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Longer walk to the old port but certainly doable. Staff polite and helpful. City and river views from our 30th floor room were lovely. Bathroom is on the small side and they only have one set of towels per person. Hotel would overall use some upgrades in common areas but overall its fine and...

We enjoyed our stay here. Great location in downtown Montreal. About a 10 min walk to the old port. Check-in was great, our room was available early and as requested. We asked for a room on a higher floor facing the parks/mont royal. The room was great. The metro (subway) is attached to the hotel. Starbucks in the lobby with...

We stayed at this hotel for the Irish Dance Championships over July 4th weekend. We found the staff ver y helpful. We were able to get all the girls on my daughters team on the same floor. I have stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Check in was quick. Great room on the 28th floor, city view. As a Marriott award member, I contacted the Hotel prior to my arrival to block a high floor room. It's something that I strongly recommend. Great location when travelling by train. Great location to take any of the Gray...

Stayed here for a board meeting for 3 days in July. The hotel and staff are very nice. The rooms are terribly small and the bathrooms tiny. The hind of tiny where you have to stand in the tub to close the door. Not what I expected since a lot of 6 foot plus hockey players stay there on a...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
