We stayed at the Hotel Bonaventure June 21-23 2015 . This hotel was fantastic. Our room was great . The staff was outstanding . We will definitely stay here if we are lucky enough to visit Montreal again. The rooms were large . And the location was near everything . Old Montreal was 3 stops away .

The hotel sits on the top two floors of a 14 story building downtown. What's really cool about it is the rooftop pool and foliage that totally obscures the downtown buildings. We're talking 20 feet tall birch trees, koi ponds, duck pools and a connected waterway that creates a parklike setting. The rooms were clean and good sized. Internet is...

This hotel was a decent price and in a good location, which is why we booked it. When we arrived, we thought the lobby, pool area and room were nice and clean. We arrived back at our hotel on a Friday night to broken elevators. They only have 2, and one was broken during the entire stay, but the other...

I was there for a convention, the room that the convention assigned me was bigger than the one the receptionist gave me. Pretty small bedroom just a space for a double bed and tv. The room was complety dusty,I started sneezing the moment I arrived. I left in reception an iphone portable charger so that they can give it to...

The Hotel Bonaventure is no longer a Hilton, but that's not a bad thing. The staff are much friendlier and willing to help and converse with their guests than when I stayed here while it was a Hilton. The club room has more personalized service with waiters who got to know us during our stay. The club room also had...

This place admittedly has a bad Ant problem. The rooms are next to a garden on the roof top and get quite infested during the Summer. They offer to come in and spray if you complain but that doesn't calm any worries when you sleep.

We checked into the room and everything was pleasant. The building is quite dated but well located. Whilst sleeping in. The room was 1121 we realised we were located close to the elevators so late night party boys were coming back, people were dragging suitcases to the lobby by the stairs by our room and then the adjoined rooms' kids...

The hotel was built in the late 1960’s in the ‘brutalist’ (source Wikipedia) style and boy does it show. Outside it has a prison’esque look with ribbed concrete and a box like structure. Inside however, there is a green oasis and a pool open year round (I would hate to pay that gas bill). Seemingly newly renovated, the rooms were...

Stayed here for 4 nights in early July. Hotel is very well appointed, 5 minute walk to St. Catherine Street and the Bell Center and directly across the street from Gare Central. The hotel decor is a little dated but the beautiful rooftop garden and pool area more than made up for this. The room was fairly large, though the...

Second time staying at this hotel, first since Hilton sold it. Still very nice, room was big, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Some areas are showing wear, like the pool. Drinks at the bar are very expensive. But the location is great, direct access to the underground is really helpful in bad weather, and the breakfast buffet was very good (but...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
