We stayed in Bonaventure Hotel for 3 nights in August. Great location near center and easy access from airport. If you don"t have a car , metro station is right there and easy access to all. Loved the hotel gardens and heated outdoor pool.

A great hotel. The location is superb-above the central station. The facilities are excellent and access to the underground city is direct from the hotel so there is no need to go outside during the cold winters. The outdoor pool is very popular- we watched people swimming in the open during a blizzard then jumping into a hot tub alongside...

It is wonderful that you had the chance to enjoy our beautiful city, our hotel gardens and outdoor pool facilities. We hope to have the pleasure of serving you again on your next visit to Montreal

The location of the Hotel Bonaventure is excellent. My room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The outdoor pool is gorgeous albeit a little cold on a winter evening. The service at the hotel was inconsistent. Some people were extra nice and helpful, but others seemed not to care at all. A doorman was completely dismissive and rude when I asked...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Bonaventure for two nights at the end of January for a quick trip to Montreal to visit our son. We enjoyed the hotel and its easy access from the train station and the underground city. The year round outdoor pool is a must and it was wonderful to swim in at night....

This hotel is located at Place Bonaventure in Montréal. From it, you can get to the Bonaventure metro station in less than 10 minutes, without having to go outside. Or you can use the Montreal underground corridors to go almost every where downtown, to the train stations as well as to the fashion stores on Ste-Catherine street. The particularity of...

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are so glad you enjoyed the stay with us. It can be a bit different when finding out you are on the top floor but definitely worth the roof top gardens and heated pool. We look forward to seeing you again.

Favorite Montreal hotel. Viewing the stars at night in the pool surrounded by ice and snow is heavenly. We have many happy memories from staying here over the past 40 years with family and friends. Food and drinks in the bar lobby is a must. We used to love when the hotel put on their Italian buffet on the weekends....

We are regular travellers to Montreal and we usually stay at another hotel, but we thought we would try something new. We were not disappointed. We called ahead for directions from the via station and we like that we didn't need to go outside, we took the underground walking system. The entrance is ground level and you travel up the...

Hotel has changes throughout the years, but it has always maintained its high standards of style, cleanliness, and overall resort feel in the middle of this great city. Our room was very spacious and clean, with great bedding and amenities. This time we also had dinner at the new Le Kube Restaurent, and it was exceptional. My wife had the...

This was an awesome hotel experience. The hotel was mainly filled with families, but it made for a great place to stay for a night. It came with free breakfast and they held our bags for 4 hours while we continued to tour Montreal. Our train left at 4PM, we retrieved our bags at 3:30, and were on the train...

Been coming here for years. Used to stay here when it was the Hilton Bonaventure. Still love the place. This is a great spot in downtown Montreal that is located close to everything. You can get anywhere from here by either walking, the metro, or buses. We rarely find ourselves having to hail a cab. The connection to Gare Centrale,...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
