I've stayed a Hyatt Regencies in Chicago & DC. They're never trendy, but they're a good hotel. This Hyatt Regency misses that mark completely. You walk into a substandard dark and dreary entrance and have to take an elevator to get the to real lobby. There are two elevators. One is out of service and the other barely works. When...

Upon arriving at 11:30 p.m. was told that the room I reserved online was not valid and they had no room for me as they were sold out. I almost lost it right then and there but luckily two people had cancelled standing right beside me. I was brought to a room that was the dilapidated, had hair in the...

If you are Trying to get to 50 nights or 25 stays bypass this property. The internet doesn't work. This is the first big problem for business travelers. When I checked in I specifically asked if the parking was controlled by Hyatt and they attendant said yes. This usually means that Diamond members get their parking comped at check out....

The first impression is really negative. It seems to stay in a disco. Hip and loud volume music, purple lights and spotlights in the lobby and in the bar nearby the lobby. The local area, altough they told it is in the center of Montreal is under renovation and looking out from the windows you see only working areas and...

I recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay downtown montreal. Location was excellent as it's close by many shops and restaurants. Below was a mall with more shops and a food court. Near bank. indoor self parking was $20 which is average. Better than paying $20 for outdoor parking. Staff was great. Room quality was great. Wished their fridge...

Although my room may not have been quiet since we were in Montreal for a large convention and I had many friends visiting and hanging out, the hotel and area is surprisingly quiet. The water pressure in the shower was low but this may not apply for each room. Elevators are also very slow and I think this needs improvement.

Superb hotel, wonderful staff. Loved the lounge, the restaurant, the terraces, every common area beautifully designed and kept meticulously clean and pleasant. The location cannot be better - you are within walking distance of museums, - just across the street, the Musée d'Art Contemporaine - music and theater venues, shops, restaurants and cafes. Two quick elevator rides allow you to...

Well located next to contemporary art museum but atop a huge mall and busy streets. Breakfast very nice buffet. Rooms are smallish, worn out and not so nice. Disappointed. Parking is ok under the complex. Lots of convention and business types.

Great place to stay, excellent Service, close distance to Notre-dame and the rest of old Montreal. The parking is conveniently located at the basement of the hotel but you have to pay for it- but again your in the city center. Utilize the art center across the hotel- symphony tickets are cheap during the summer months.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
