This was our first visit to Montreal. We chose L'Appartement Hotel because of its close location to McGill University, downtown, bus stops and museums. The location is perfect for walking around downtown. Our suite had a separate bedroom with one bed, a living room with a pullout couch, kitchen with fridge, stove, full stocked dishes and dining table area. We...

We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a sofabed in the living room, a dining area, and a kitchenette. It was wonderful to have space to walk around instead of being stuck in a standard hotel single room with two double beds. The decor is simple; the suite was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My two...

As others have said, the decor here is dated. But its a great little hotel, everything is well maintained. Quiet. Lots of families. Nice little pool and binary gendered saunas. I think all the rooms have a full kitchen, which is amazing, even in my smallest cheapest room (which was not small at all!) Has a little balcony which I...

From the beginning our experience was positive. Friendly staff at front desk. My son was lucky to receive a Greating Gift. The hotel is old but clean. Great location. You can walk almost to any attractions or restaurant nearby. Chinatown 10min walk, Old Montreal 15 min, Quartier des spectacles 5 min. Breakfast is free and generous. Parking is 20$ the...

We stayed here for four nights during a rather cold spell in the city. Yes, the place is a little out of date and the furniture could be more stylish. But it all worked and was comfortable enough. The location was good with the metro/subway within a short walk away. Vieux Montréal is also not far on foot –but it...

Great staff, they were very accomodating and were given an extra hour for late checkout no issues. One bedroom suite really spacious, extremely clean, no noise whatsoever. Will definitely stay again! Perhaps the furnishings seem a little dated but extremely well kept. Great supplies in the kitchenette, great choice of toiletries also.

We traveled with 5 people in two suites (1 2-bedroom suite and a single suite). The suites are very large and have good enough (not luxury) furniture. The 2 bedroom suite has a shared bathroom - just like an apartment (which these essentially are). The location is very convenient for downtown, and the Rue Sherbrooke buses are very close by...

Hotel easy to find, excellent location just two blocks north of St. Catherine St. couple blocks from McGill Music. Walking distance to restaurants. Room was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Great breakfast included. Would stay again. We had two rooms, the kitchenette was well stocked with what we needed. Pool was great for the kids.

This was in a great location - near restaurants, museums, shopping etc. We used the pool and sauna daily. It was clean and well maintained. It was busy but quiet, you never heard your neighbors. The breakfast was acceptable but the same exact thing every day. It included cereal, toast and fruit. The staff was friendly and offered ideas of...

We paid about $140/night and felt it was a pretty good deal when all was said and done. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We don't speak French (much) but it wasn't a problem as everyone in Montreal seems to speak English as well as French. We loved having a one bedroom apartment style room. It was roomy. Our 12...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
