I had one of the smaller rooms in this Bed N Breakfast, but there was lots of room closet wise, the bed was really comfy, not too soft or too hard, the multiple choices for pillows on the bed was really nice. Perfect for one, would be good for a couple that likes to cuddle, but 2 may be a...

A real cozy bed and breakfast in a quiet street near Mont-Royal and the corresponding metro station. In the area are a lot pf restaurants and bars. Room was adequate, common kitchen is spacious and clean. Lyne, who owns the place, was very helpful, even though she was out of town the day I arrived. She texted the details and...

This is a bed and breakfast and not a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel atmosphere and amenities, you should look elsewhere. This is a quaint, quiet, personal bed and breakfast that is in an excellent location when it comes to the metro and services. There are numerous local restaurants within a few minutes walk and the metro...

We stayed 3 nights at Shezelles in Mont-Royal Plateau. It was well located down a pretty tree-lined residential street in a great neighbourhood. Lucie was a great host and made you feel like her personal guest. Breakfasts were delicious including homemade maple syrup. Popular so book ahead. Our room was a little on the small side and opened onto the...

My girlfriend and I travelled to Montreal and Quebec after a beautiful drive through the Vermont Fall foliage. Lucie and Lyne could not have been more welcoming. We chatted with Lucie for over an hour after arrival....what a great way to wind down after traveling! We were made to feel like friends....and got great tips on honing my French! Our...

The B&B is located near the Mont Royal metro station (about 5 min walk), which makes the rest of Montreal within easy distance. Breakfast is served at 8:30 and it's all organic and varies from day to day. The rooms and bathroom are clean and the hostesses very friendly. Will go back if we get the chance!

My wife and I chose this place pretty much at the last minute and we have nothing but good things to say about this place. To begin with, the hostess Lynne was genuinely warm, friendly and sociable. It felt like we were staying at a friend's house! The room was very comfortable and clean and we had a great night's...

I picked this B&B quite by chance, having done very little preparation ahead of my trip. As luck would have it there was a spare room and the place turned out to be just about perfect. The welcome was genuinely warm and the rooms very comfortable with good wi-fi. Breakfast was always good and tasty and something of a social...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.

“There are fairly steep stairs that lead to the front door. If you want your own en-suite luxury bathroom then maybe this is not for you. This is a simple but very well run B&B, great value for money and a credit to the friendly people of Montreal.”
