My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the St-Martin from December 29-January 1. We arrived on a very snowy evening. The front desk clerk was very friendly and recommended the Brigade Pizzeria Napolitaine for dinner, which was an excellent casual spot for our first meal. The room was beautiful, cosy and spacious. We were in room 509 at the... More

Fabulous big room, great soaker tub, superb location and very friendly service. The $20 breakfast buffet however was not only lousy it was ridiculously overpriced. Breakfast for 2 with tax and tip was the worst $55 ever spent. A black eye on an otherwise terrific hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and were delighted with the service, location, and beautiful room. Very close to the front gates of McGill and just up the street from st Catharine's, this hotel is really quite wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised with our 4 day stay at Le St-Martin over the New Year's holiday. The location was outstanding right next to the Peel Metro Station with restaurants and shopping a short walk away. Stayed at this place in November. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Great location right downtown. Best service I have ever had at a hotel. Clean, smells great and excellent amenities. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
