The staff are nice. Our room was ok if a bit small and the hotel is well situated. The big down for us was the pool. In the photos it looks great with a nice view but in reality it is in a canyon as they have built a huge building next door so it nothing like the photos. We...

I had a reservation made for may 22nd to 23rd. On the phone, the person I spoke with assured me that my card that works as both debit and credit would work upon arrival for the deposit as she asked me my card number. When I arrived, my card didn't work and the employee went to get the assistant manager...

Call me old fashioned, but I still believe a hotel room is mainly a place to sleep. Sleep, Sleep requires quiet and darkness, at least for me. My travel agent requested a quiet room for me. We arrived at 11 PM after travel delays. The room was a corner, curved room with all-glass walls above a busy street with blinds...

Traveled with my husband and two teenage children for four nights during our spring break from school. Lucked out with great weather. The concierge and doorman couldn't have been nicer. Always had a bottle of water for us when we entered the lobby which was superb because I never saw any little stores that sold water. Great location, able to...

Well located. Fantastic service. Very good facilities. Breakfast ok. Clean. The only negative point I found were the elevators - although reasonably fast I was faced with line-ups most of the time. In general the hotel offers a good cost/benefit relation. We'll return again. Highly recommended.

Dear Luiz Roberto P, Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience with the trip advisor community. Our location is always a hit with our guests, being centrally located across the street from the metro is a great bonus! Being a boutique hotel we do only have 2 elevators, therefore during busy times when the hotel is full, it can happen...

We couldn't complain about the cleanliness. Of the room at all. The bed was comfy. The bathroom spotless. However the air conditioning couldn't be lowered to the level we wanted either by us or the maintenance chap. He had about as much of a clue as we did! He did succeed in getting down to 18 but no lower and...

The St Martin is located right in the heart of the downtown shopping district. It is easy to get to via car but watch out for the bikes in the bike lanes. Sometimes they tend to go when they should stop. It is not bad but be careful. We checked into the hotel with ease. At first we stopped in...

This hotel is in the perfect location. We could walk to great shops, cafes and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was in Montréal on business for three days in early May. This hotel was not my first call, but I am so glad that I ended up there! The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed,...

Able to walk pretty well everywhere downtown. Took in the Montreal Symphony, the Marc Chagall exhibit at the Fine Arts, old Montreal, the two Basilicas and of course some fine shopping. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
