Second time staying and it was great. So close to palais de congres. Breakfast was scrumptious. Service always cheerful, helpful and available. Very nice rooms. I loved everything! Except the construction in the front of the building that was no fault of the hotel.

My wife and I stayed her for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The staff went over and above to make it a momentous time for us. Beautiful hotel, great food... amazing service... do not hesitate to stay here.

Loved this hotel so much! One block from the Basilica in the heart of Vieux Montreal -charming, friendly staff, beautiful room. The complimentary 3 course breakfast in their quaint dining room was scrumptious! The price and value means look no more! The construction is there but really NO BIG DEAL! We will definitely stay here again.

I loved every bit of this hotel! The service was personal, the room lovely, the location ideal. We had an excellent view in the back of the hotel of the Notre Dame Cathedral - two beds meant a very spacious set up. The included breakfast is divine - choices between different egg/omelette options and sweets like crepes or french toast.... More

This inn boasts large rooms, clean and comfortable, plus an excellent French restaurant, in the shadow of Notre Dame. Normally, I'd be effusive in praise, but right now the area is a construction site, streets torn up with wooden planks to walk to get in and out of the hotel and restaurant. Check before booking to make sure everything is... More

Food and wine list are great. Was little bit annoyed by the construction around the place, but a parcking lot is available close by. Hostesses are very welcoming and nice. Fast service for business lunch or dinner. The must try is Ravioli mushroom dish. A must. Cheers

The best thing about this hotel is ... everything! The front desk staff Estelle, Marie-Eve,Luc and Anne Marie were extraordinarily kind, helpful and professional. There is construction going on in front of the hotel (major infrastructure repairs but scheduled to end soon) so the front desk folks parked our car for us and helped carry our luggage to and from... Great location, excellent breakfast. Staff is super friendly and attentive. The Auberge is near restaurants and sights and has easy access to rest of Montreal. Would definitely stay on a return visit.

We stayed one night (October 21, 2016) before boarding a cruise. As noted elsewhere, the street was torn up because of what appeared to be water or sewer work and extensive remodeling of the property across the street. Access was from a parking lot over a boardwalk to the front door. One gentleman from the hotel came to the parking... More

Auberge Bonaparte is a wonderful small hotel in Montreal's Old City. Our room was the one pictured with this post. It is large, clean and comfortable. It's facing the street, but the windows are good quality and kept most of the noise out. It is a very quiet neighborhood - especially late at night. Breakfast is a nice treat. Note:... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
