Hotel is very clean and staffed with friendly, helpful people. Bed was a little stiff for my liking. The last night we were there, it sounded as though there was some sort of construction happening in the room above us at a very early hour (7AM) which was rather unpleasant to wake up to on a holiday. Overall, great looking...

Be very careful with using your credit card here. Info that I gave to the front desk associate was compromised. Got a call late at night from someone claiming to be with Novotel trying to get all my credit info. They knew my name and my girlfriends name, the room we were staying in and even the time we returned...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Service was very good - no concierge but there were usually 2 people at the desk so one person served as a concierge while the other checked people in and out. I speak rusty but adequate French and they were good about letting me use either language. The internet was only...

Great overall value. Modern decor, good location (right in the shopping district) and nice size rooms. We stayed for 4 nights and were very satisfied. We even requested a mini fridge in our room and they brought us one, free of charge. Overall, a very comfortable stay without an outrageous price.

Two negative observations: - no free internet, management unwilling to do anything about this and no benefit / bonus in this respect to accor platinum members..... poor service - no direct information about the free food offer which was included in the package....

Don't judge a book by the cover and do not judge the hotel by its lobby..... Although the lobby is renovated not all the rooms are! My standard double was a fairly small. There was mold in the shower and one of the beds had a sink hole size dip in the middle of the bed. The room also showed...

Some friends and I stayed at the Novotel Montreal Center in late August 2012. The hotel is located right in the heart of the action of Montreal's tourist district, and there are lots of restaurants, bars and shopping in easy walking district. Overall it was a very good stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable (not luxurious, but adequate), the...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
