I rented for the weekend for the festival. It was great that I could get cheap accommodations ($70) on one day notice, but there is a reason why. The rooms are clean and simple, but they are like furnaces. it got so hot in my room I had to go on the floor. Good luck having a decent sleep in...

This is the worst accommodation in which I've ever stayed. I booked as part of the Osheaga package without checking the reviews beforehand and it was simply horrible. The mattress is a piece of plastic as hard as a rock (I can't believe that anyone can sleep on those longer than a couple of days), the room was very dirty,...

Rented UQAM as part of an osheaga accommodation package. Didn't read the reviews until later and was really nervous. Not as bad as some of the reviews indicated but not good either. Pros: great location, good price, no bugs, speedy wifi in our room. Cons: terrible plastic mattress with weird divides in it that cut in to your back, dirty,...

I recently booked here to stay for the formula 1. My cousin stayed here last year and she was honest and said that it wasn't the nicest place in the world but it was cheap and served its purpose. My expectations were not high. I've been a student I knew what to expect. I booked a room in an 8...

The room was incredibly filthy and not in the state in which it was advertised. I rented a room that was supposed to supply kitchen amenities and what I found was one spoon, one fork, and one knife (all filthy) in an equally filthy drawer. Worse, there was a man's boxer left in the toilet's cupboard. I almost puke when...

This place has so many things wrong - rude staff, uncleaned rooms, no wifi in rooms, 2am (and 9am) fire alarms requiring evacuation, and massive parties going to 4am that require a police presence. And that was just the first night!!! I have stayed at different university residences (Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver, Ottawa, Kingston), and this is by far the worst....

We stayed here for Osheaga in 2015. First, the pictures look NOTHING like the actual hotel. The bathroom was absolutely grotesque, showering in there was disgusting. The shower mat was just a plastic mat that got filthy after one use. The rooms were very very small and not very clean. Definitely consider paying a little extra for a MUCH better...

What a monumental mistake booking this residence! It was an absolute sweat box. There is no a/c and the window can only be opened a few inches. The small frig puts out heat which is retained in the stale air that smells like burnt dust. It had to be over 90 in the room. Tiny bathroom with a miniature sink...

Flying from Tokyo, one of the most expensive cities in the world, I found this place did not even worth the money. I stayed in a studio at $75+tax. The whole building did not have air conditioning, wifi was accessible only in the lobby (no wifi in the rooms). It was very nice of the them to provide towels and...

Excellent price for its quality in downton montreal. Near of everything. Economic for young couple. It is not a great hotel like the mariotte or the Queen but you greatly save for your journey in montreal.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
