We spent a whole week with our three year daughter in this hostel. The staff was very helpful and patient with our little earthquake. The old building is very charming and is conveniently located close to a very big park.

Perfectly acceptable, but by no means luxurious. Shared bathrooms were clean & in good order (the outdoor shower might not be great in winter, but there's an indoor one also!) There's a well equipped kitchen if you feel like preparing your own food. No complaints at all.

This hostel is located in walking distance from the old town. And, you can find free parking spots on the street around the corner. They have a nice terrace where you can have free breakfast. Very friendly staff. We stayed in a family room, which has a sink. It was very convenient and spacious. The decoration of this brownstone, where...

I enjoyed my stay here, i felt very safe which i felt was important being a young female solo traveller. I stayed for Heavy Montreal music festival (amongst amongst few other guests) i shared a room with 3 other girls. The bathroom facilities weren't great but they were clean. The breakfast out on the terrace was very good especially for...

I really enjoyed my stay at this calm and small guest house. A warm welcome and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast including pancakes was nice and could be taken on the terrasse. The room was good, the hostel was very well maintained and clean. The outdoor-shower was fantastic. The location is great, easy to reach with public transport,...

We stayed here for 4 nights with a two year old...It's a nice family location actuatally: the hostel just opposite a park, which is lovely in case your kid needs to run! The hostel is very clean, it seems cleaningness has become some kind of obsession for the hostels owner and her staff! Our kid loved the out door shower,...

Thanks a lot for your nice words about Le Gite in Tripadvisor! We make a lot of efforts to make everyone feel like home, but we know that it’s always possible to do it better! We're changing some of our policies because it's true that they were a little bit restrictive: for example, we don't charge anymore for leaving the...

First time as solo traveller and although I've been to montreal a couple of times I was a bit scared of 'hostels' but Gite du Parc Lafontaine was sooo safe, clean and the ppl that stay there aren't creepy whatsoever. If you're a female, you can chose to stay in a room with girls only and that just makes everything...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
